I saw that and actually felt kind of embarrassed that I play a game that has such things.
He put... creatures... in our bodies... to control our minds. He made us... say lies... do things. |

As if it wasn't hard enough already to admit to friends and relatives that I like others, played a game about internet spaceships. Now its beginning to feel I guess like 'coming out of the closet'.

What I like is that we can build stations and capitals but none of us can make a bloody dress. Come on, Improve the product (fix broken stuff, fix broken mechanics etc.) and increase recurring revenue with a larger subscription base. If people want to join to play dressup in stations great but don't waste lots of resource on it especially since it's now so obvious many (the majority?) of us aren't interested in parting with ú's for virtual boots. :/
also, am bald, so where are the hats, hair pieces, and wigs?

Everything happens for a reason so either this NEX thing is secretly very successful or they think that by constantly advertising barbies to a group of people that want to play spaceships they will somehow sell barbies.
I'm going with the latter option and have to add that I'm surprised they haven't identified their target audience after 8 years. This seems like a "cool idea" from a meeting versus doing what will actually work. Watch what I do here CCP maybe you can learn something! Your entire market are EvE players, we can't see the NEX store if we don't like spaceships. So the basic idea is that popular things for us involve spaceships which are not barbies. So what should you sell to people who like spaceships? Ship paint schemes, sell a better looking pod and crystals that make lasers fire cool colors(but not different damage), sell access to the ability to make a better corp logo. Now that you have our attention and us buying things put in some clothes and upgrades for our quarters.
How about pricing? Look at iTunes nobody wants to spend $20 on a CD any more but they'll spend hundreds per year on 99 cent transactions, more than they'd ever spend at the higher price point.
TLDR: Identify your target. Base your pricing, advertising and product around that market. Normalize your new product or service with the target and then expand without them noticing. Don't believe me? Check into how companies in the alcoholic beverage industry function.
