being in a wh, you inevitably need to lock down an entrance or exit. How well would a disco bs fleet do at a wh, assuming people are jumping in or trying to get out. You have to be with in 5k of the wh to use it. And when you go through your almost always with in 5k of the wh. Couple it with a bubble.... Sounds terrifying.
Your thoughts? What ship (preferably caldari) is best for the job? Fitting?

To stop covops? Sure, why not.
But generally speaking, sitting a battleship on a hole is going to result in a dead battleship, one way or another.
You're looking for a Rokh ... to which the disco fit will be all over Google.
And every lowsec gate. -------

Oooh I love the disco,
yes Rokh, yes it works and keep a few cruisers just off grid in fleet to help with any suprises should something go wrong.
I dont believe so as that jump cloak effect is game mech driven....as soon as he/she hits a button tho...heheh

You can't use a smartbomb very close to a wormhole.

How close can you get?

IIRC, the distance away from a wormhole at which you can smartbomb is equal to the range on your smartbomb; e.g. if you have a smartbomb range of 7500m, you have to be 7501m away from the wormhole to activate your smartbomb.
Naturally, this means you have to have group of people to cover a wormhole completely.
Furthermore, the cloak after jumping through a wormhole is unbreakable. You don't take damage from anything while jump-cloaked, and so you'll have to wait for them to uncloak. At most, you'll stop people from jumping into your system, but you're not likely to get any kills either, as they can wait out their session timer while cloaked and then jump back between smartbomb hits.

Nah it's always 5k, which means the faction ones are better as you could actually cover a wormhole that way. --- Drykor - AHARM |

Put it to critical mass. No-one in their right mind jumps through a crit WH....
If you're putting ships on a WH to guard it make sure you have more ships than they do and ensure they don't have eyes on your side. Finding a lone ship on a WH is what many WH corps live to find.

Tested it today with 6km smart bombs. Had to be 6 km's away.

AHARM have probably found an exploit to let them do it within 5km, it's not like it would be the first time ---------------

Those are the best wormholes to gank people in, when they least expect it. We jump crit wh's all day long, depending on the static.
And officer smartbombs work 15km iirc, you need some isk tho

Smarties are a valid tactic in low sec to catch people who warp from one celestial to another, making it easyish to place the smarties in the right spot.
they would work for someone warping to your wormhole from within the system providing you knew the celestial they were coming from. i can see much point in WH space tho as you can use bubbles to snare your target a fair distance from the hole using the same tactics. terrible ide for catching people coming thru the hole tho, for reasons already posted above.
