YAY for Eve's forum software! I had a nice post all ready, but the forum system decided to erase EVERYTHING!
So, I'm just going to repost my petition text instead:
Repeated client crashes (a problem since Incarna, and which I don't have with any other software on my machine, so I'm pretty sure it's the EVE client and not anything on my end) stranded my drones in dead space during an active mission, resulting in their destruction before I could recover them.
A good permanent fix for this would be to:
a) have drones automatically warp out when a client disconnects, like the player's ship does in that situation. This would finally prevent these problems and is a long overdue fix IMHO. Thew few players who force a disconnect to save their ship and drones would be outweighed by the players who lose all their tech II drones due to a crash out of their control. It's simple customer service.
Also, b) allowing ships to reconnect to lost drones within drone control range (ala reconnect to lost probes) would allow us to save drones ASAP rather than having to move to within 2500m (and with a Drake, that takes long enough to lose another drone or two).
Optionally, c) have rats stop attacking dead drones, and treat them like they were wrecks or capsules.
Right now I will never fly a drone boat (and lose potentially millions of ISK nightly on tech II drones). Already I'm petrified about Incarna's client instability with getting a 500M ship scrammed in a mission, then blown up before I can reconnect. And I know I'm not the only one with this problem.
Thanks!

I like this.I should be able to reconnect to drones i launched without having to scoop them. Have you ever tried to scoop drones in the middle of belt in a BS? Not a fun chore so i usually just leave them.
The other two are kind of meh. Drones are a marginal amount of isk to me, so not something im really pressed about but B would still be nice.
Did you try the tech forum for your d/c problem? Someone maybe able to help there.

its simple, if u disconnect, while ur ship is trying to warp away your drones go back to ur drone bay... no buttons no lost drones no BS

If you take to long to write a post, it silently logs you out and eats your post. Surprise
Always copy-paste long posts before you click.

You click the back button on your browser( at least on firefox) and your post will still be there. Also When you post a new post and expect it to take more than a few minutes to write open the reply link in a new tab. When you ready to post just go back to the tab that doesnt have your reply and either refresh or click a forum link. If it tells you at the top your logged out then sign in on that page and switch back to the post tab and post.
