Edited by: Aesiron on 30/08/2011 10:38:03 Hi. I have started to do some level 3 missions. But as it happens the missions I do always end up getting me torn to pieces. Today I was running the level 3 where you need to destroy a repair station. But I got onto structure at one point. Can you please look at my loadout and see what's wrong with it. Thanks.

i dont see anything wrong with your fit maybe you need some more SP in armor tanking :) -------------------------------------------- I saw a guy wearing a t-shirt that said "I'm with stupid" ... He was alone. |

Your fit looks fine, to be honest. That mission is a bit of a trap though. Were I to guess, I'd suspect the issue is that you lack T2 turrets and are unable to mitigate the damage with range.
Once you get scorch, you'll be able to do a bit of kiting and be much better off.

Yeah you guys are right, I just need T2 lasers. But I did find that I hadn't got as many skill points in armour tanking or core stuff as I thought. I will train those skills.

Sorry we can't help any further. It seems like you know what you're doing but are constrained by factors beyond your control.
If you train up your capacitor skills a bit, an auxiliary nano pump might help. That's as much as I can really add, unfortunately.

And make sure you destroy the two power thingies before you shoot the repair station else it will repair itself...

Use beam lasers. This will allow you to pop targets before they can damage you and you will not need so much travel time between targets. In missions, range control is not to be underestimated. --------

I did, but out of 7 I can only equip 5 of the beam lasers. Also every single person in the Help channel at the time said that I should use Pulse Lasers.

If your skills don't work for a set of heavy beams, use focused beams until you can either use heavy or T2 pulse lasers. T2 pulse has scorch, which have good damage at high range.
Personally, I always preferred beams, if only for the thermal component in short range ammo that makes quite some difference when going against guristas and even angels (and the much higher max range you can start firing and the cheap t1 crystals/faction compared to t1 ammo). --------

beams, nuff said. with no T2 pulses your fit looks fine but in practice just begging to be shot, and all rats are happy to oblige. You simply have no option but "chaaaarge" and, well, your cant tank whole rooms and with T1 guns u obviously cant killem fast enough. If u still wanna use pulses, go dual med rep tank with 2 hardeners, should do the trick, may be. Also i dunno how bad your drone skills are but 5 hammers recommended. ---- Drones eat everything. Trust me. |
