I've had an idea of what to do with ISKies to create more ISKies, but I wanted to do some kind of research of the market before making any foolhardy commitments.
I was thinking of setting up a holding corp that can buy researched BPOs and offer people the chance to bid to build from them.
To ensure ease and straight forwardness they would likely be Capital Component BPOs as they're not too expensive and don't require anything special for manufacturing.
I could set up 2 lots of 10 BPOs to build from using station services within a few jumps of Jita, but am not sure how much this would bring in, or if people would actually want to pay to save on investing in the BPOs themselves.
Are there any builders here that would find it useful to have access to a catalogue of BPOs or are there any people here that do something similar and can provide information about problems they faced implementing this?

That is a bad idea. Capital components are 10,000m3 per unit once built with the minerals required to build them around 35%-55% of that depending on level of research which one etc. You would, in this case, be much better off simply selling copies of them or producing component BPC packs for capital ships.
If you want to go with the model of bidding for the right to produce then you really have two choices. Firstly go with a massive library of researched BPOs and the winner gains access to all or secondly do it on an individual basis but use in-demand BPOs that take longer to copy than manufacture from (aka T2).
If you are thinking of multiple people being able to build from your BPOs then you will really need to use a corp per winning bidder. If you keep it all in one corp then you allow everyone to cancel each others jobs and down that road pain lies.

I thought about that, but thats going to require multiple characters with science skills and a POS running 24/7 to become economical.
I though about buying fewer, more expensive T2 BPOs, but due to the 3 to 4 year clearence on the cost of them from the profits, I'm not sure I'd make enough to cover my account.
