Edited by: Ghoest on 01/09/2011 22:31:09 EDIT: I said "patch" and meant "expansion" ie Incarna.
-CCP is no longer actively developing EVE -CCP lies. -CCP lies even more when players are upset. -Mitanni and the CSMs will believe anything if you act like they are important. -CCP is low on resources. -CCP continues to get away with this because no one else has a sand box game on the scale of EVE.

Umm which one of these points in debatable?
I guess you might possibly debate my resources point, but the most recent patch which was obviously not bug tested in the most basic manner is what i consider proof.

Technically the only thing that this patch proves is that CCP is set in their ways.

Well I mean, I was willing to believe that Incarna was mainly an absolute ****ing trainwreck and that CCP would do anything to avoid similar situations in the future. I was willing to believe that things might change.
Now, I'm not so sure.

all of them. YOURE the one suggesting all this exists, the burden of proof rests on you to prove it. If you cant you might as well delete the post cause youre just hypothesizing at best and trolling at worst

Which perhaps is the very reason you log on everday and play yeah?
As much as Eve is a GAME, playing it is OPTIONAL.

Im not sure what your point is. Everything you said is rather obviously implied.

The only thing I would add to that is that EVE is undeniably in maintenance mode, when the 18 months deadline hits Soundwave and Zulu will promptly throw up jazz hands and give us a song and dance and a new bowel movement in the redeem items tab.

Couldn't agree more. The "unique ships" they hand out used to be cool and commemorative (the Apotheosis), but now they are simply cynical distractions. oooohhh SHINY!

FYP
CCP is most definitely not developing (or even supporting) Eve.
Their gamble is, not enough people actually have the balls to quit in the 2-3 years they plan on not doing jack **** with the game. And even if they do, hopefully they can recoup much of that lost customer base with Aurum purchases.
They **** the money bed with bad business decisions. Someone got dollar signs in their eyes and went chasing waterfalls and in doing so got in so deep they gambled the entire survival of the company.
I feel bad for CCP employees the most. The terrible mismanagement at CCP risks not just our game, but their livelihoods.
--- Players are losing faith and loyalty in CCP due previous expansions not living up to player expectations. The CSM and CCP agreed that expectation management can be improved |

Hey look, a Ghoest thread. To mix things up, I'm going to use a Shakespearean insult generator. You, minion, are too saucy. Thou art some fool, I am loath to beat thee. Thou roguish swag-bellied flap-dragon! Thou slander of thy heavy mother's womb! Thou droning unchin-snouted dewberry! Thou mad mustachio purple-hued maltworms! Thou beslubbering sheep-biting pigeon-egg!

You have learned NOTHING unless you unsubscribe. CCP leadership has stated they ignore what you say and will only pay attention to what you do.
This can't be ANY more obvious. It's simple really: A) Accept whatever CCP wants to crap on you. or B) Unsubscribe.
This thread is pointless unless you unsubscribe.

The clear route to the best product is to make a product in which success is indicated by a level market share. It only sounds right if your brain is frozen apparently.

Well thats what the guys at Cryptic were doing pretty much from when Atari decided to sell them till now. Funny how much this story is starting to sound familiar -------- CCP knows better than the players whats good for their game. SOE knew what was best for SWG too. Better than all those players that left too. |

Wow. Another person makes a bunch of sweeping claims without the evidence to back it up.
Half the problem with EVE is the sheer toxicity of some of the members of it's community.
I can post on a forum, therefor a speak for everyone in EVE.

Toxicity? Can you elaborate?
I'm guessing I'm one of the people you would consider toxic. However, consider this:
-I've been playing this game for 8 years -I've personally brought CCP dozens of subscribers -I've lead corporations and helped lead alliances. I'm versed in virtually every profession in the game.
What you may consider to be toxic some of us may consider spreading the truth. Warning people that we are fast approaching the point of no return for this game.
I don't want to see Eve fail. In that manner I don't consider myself toxic. But I would rather see Eve shut down than become what some people have as a vision for this game.
Hilmar listens to his investors... unless the investors are the people that have paid into his game for years and years. I have no right, no claim to my virtual character or items, but I do have a vested personal interest in the game and it's company. That gives me as much of a right to voice my opinion as anyone.
Does Hilmar have to listen to me? Of course not. But he does have to listen to us. Do I speak for everyone? Never said that I did, but I can attempt to sway the opinions of others. Hilmar will listen to our actions. That is all he will listen to, he's said as much himself. This is why I unsubscribed and I encourage others that feel strongly about the direction of eve to do the same.
Is it toxic? Well truth is cleansing. Though I don't think anything but dirt would call cleansing 'toxic'.

Glad to elaborate (and probably should have in my original post).
Toxic is a word I use to refer to those players how make wild unsubtantiated claims about EVE and claim to represent most players in EVE. They also seek to influence other players so that they share their opinion.
