yeah me neither once you think of the realities of it
How are they going to have a constantly going game when in EVE ppl arent constantly sacking planets? Are these guys gonna turn into the scourge of PI? Making PI worthless by randomly killing ppls' stuff for no reason other than "oooo big boom!" -------- CCP knows better than the players whats good for their game. SOE knew what was best for SWG too. Better than all those players that left too. |

The people who look at it with rose tinted glasses are amusing at best. How many people understand the life cycle of console FPS games? How many people truly think that a MT based console FPS is going to have retention when it's launch is based off of being " free " but having to pay to attempt to force MT on new players.
Whats going to happen when no one but a couple fanbois and people forced into playing by their alliance are left in the game? How will the shortcomings and glaring bugs settle with people that we know will be there on launch especially with a Chinese dev team operating under CCP direction. How do they intend server cluster integration when Carbon is so full of fail and small fleet fights still cause unbearable lag while also moving WIS assets to the same system showing it's inherent flaws?
When dust turns out to be yet another massive waste of time and resources will CCP scrap Shanghai and actually do something like work on FIS or just go into sinking ship mode and force WOD out as fast as possible when they still don't even have a clue how the game is going to work?

Fine points. I do not wish CCP or DUST ill, but I'm not interested. I suspect it will go the way of FW before too long.
It was a provocative concept, but I don't believe that CCP currently has the wherewithal to pull it off. After all, I was there.

Surely if that happened it would make PI very valuable?
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

I'm looking forward to this venture crashing and burning like it's going to, then being smug and saying I called it.

Forming the mechanics such that organisations in Dust form, are willing to work closely with Eve organisations and both sides get more enjoyable gameplay out of the interaction is going to be really challenging. And I doubt whether null-sec war is enough of a driver (newsflash: it's pretty much a clean-up operation atm) or CCP are skilled enough to invent and implement such mechanics.
Much more likely they'll assume that Eve players will whine but put up with anything. So I expect Dust to be a mandatory part of playing the game in the same way you can't opt out of CQ. Something like no player owned POS (since it needs PI outputs) or no owning space without hiring Dust mercs (and it's a massive isk sink for Eve! bonus!).

Meant worthless to do not to buy. Who is gonna want to put in isks to the planets to have the console FPS crowd go all rabblerabblerabble over it cause theyre bored? -------- CCP knows better than the players whats good for their game.
