DUST 514 producer Thomas Farrer sat down with Gamasutra to shed some light on the nitty-gritty details behind the auspicious plan. Farrer says that the buzz over DUST isn't as big as the team hoped
You expected people not playing EVE to care about your ****ty FPS??? You thought alienating the people who would actually play it by putting it on PS3 was a good idea?
All we are going to get for years to come is DUST ruining EVE and Incarna bull ****.

Your logic is a trainwreck. Why in gods name would you aim an console FPS's target audience at a couple hundred thousand people? . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

I love FPS. Consoles can't do that job, because the grubby snitches that make them insist on hawking $50 controllers instead of the thing that works best, $10 keyboard and mouse.
So, Dust is no use to anybody that loves FPS. It's ok for people that like FPS I guess, but those that love it.... nah.
Maybe one day they will figure out a way to sell us PS3-Only Sonykeyboardmouse for $100 and we can all be happy. |

unrated is my gripe with the
Its free....after you pay 20 bucks for it.
The logic that cause they give you in game currency is a joke since it costs nothing to create virtual goods they are in effect making you pay for the game.

I guess they just respect their core fans a little more than CCP
BC2 was always going to be a console game, just like BC1 which is the only BF game I haven't bought simply because I don't like console games ported to PC (I made an exception for BC2). Lets see how BF3 does on release and see if a modern PC FPS really can be made to work, I'm willing to bet the graph will look pretty different to that one.

You're comparing 1.8 million units sold compared to less than half a million with them porting it to PC. Take the same ratio of eve subscribers (not accounts, subscribers), and you can easily see it is not a profitable venture in CCP's case, and is in Battlefields. Thats excluding xbox numbers. .
