Eve shuts down for no apparent reason. Sometimes I can play for 2 hours before it happens, but usually it shuts down before 30 minutes of play time. Right now I've tried to connect 7 times and it has shut down every time before I even finished typing my passwd. It seams to work better if I kill _all_ processes not needed, including some that are supposed to be security processes from the latest MS updates. I've installed the newest gfx driver, disabled hyper threading, and disabled the sound. Nothing works. This is not the only game that doesn't work well for me. I got the same problems with Doom 3.
Any suggestions??

I don't think it is the gfx card. I know several other people with the same gfx card that have no problems whatsoever. Today I installed the newest drivers for the gfx card, sound card, and mother board. I also flashed the BIOS to the latest version. Then I fired up the logserver and played the game for about 6 hours. During that time it crashed 28 times.
So I've now got 28 logs that I'm thinking about mailing to CCP. =)
When the game crashes for me, it shuts down without any warning or error dialog. It just disappears.
_Any_ ideas are very welcome!

well, i usd to crash a hell of alot, sometimes i could be online for hours, sometimes i'd be crashig every 5 mins or so.. ask my corp mates... i lost may ships to it..
but my advice is...
if you are using a "WIRELESS CONNECTION" or bluetooth or infrared networks work, home or just generaly on a laptop or something.
get a wire..
i have tried almost every wireless conection about, the second eve feels a signal strength fluxtuation, how ever small, it seems to crash, or at lest for me it does, and i have a pretty good spec on my cpu,
so i tried the wire i once got out for using with the PS2, and hooked it to my network card through my router..
and
wham bam thankyou mam, never seemed to crash again..
so to all you wireless connection users out there, (or dont have T&L on your graffix card) use a wire/cable (and change you card if needed)
if you have the problem and you have a direct BB conection...
well....
your oracle must rest now..
to be continued.......

I solved my problem. It turned out that one of my memory modules were broken.
I should have read this thread thoroughly before complaining here. =)
