Is it just me, or are there alot and i mean alot less people playing this game then a month ago. Went to change a skill earlier after half quitting (letting game time run out then not resubbing) and only saw 20k when usuialy at that time there is 40k+.
Have i missed something here?

Nope. The only thing missing are the players who woke up one day and realised that years and years of half assed half baked expansions with promises of eventual fleshing out were just empty promises after all.

The normal summer boost got kneecapped by a subpar patch that actually drove the numbers down, rather than up, and now we're into early autumn, when numbers usually go down because people go back to work/school. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡ you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki

We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.
But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum.
Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGÇÖt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.

I used someone else's money to reactivate my inactive sub off a 4 hour reactivation email from ccp using my massive isk reserves to come here and lulz at the massive denial.

Well, I'm not playing and neither is my alt, but that's been the case since Incarnage anyway (Besides, who needs spaceships and space barbies when you can have ponies?).
Also, a lot of people realized that CCP doesn't give a damn about EVE beyond the money it makes them, so they left and hope CCP will notice and actually make updates worth playing. Last I checked about 6k subs had quit, but that was in early July and those numbers are proly off.

EVE is "missing" nearly 20.000 people. Don't tell me that are all bots.
If that is not a sign, go to the front page and watch the graph, day by day. I've done it for a month now an it shows that every day the amount of people online is lower then the week before. The only peak you get is during saturday/ sunday, and even then the numbers do not rise above the week before.
But hey! No problem peeps! EVE is doing well!!!!
Incarna the room with a door is a hit, and PI is just pure slaughter with all the pollution, border wars and what not.
Nothing to worry about, this is just normal behavior!
Cannot wait till they release more superior overpriced naxi inspired uniforms! wheeee!

In America "summer" is generally referred to as ending As September begins(4 days ago) or on Labor day(tomorrow).

I've also noticed the decline in active players. I myself have been mostly inactive, I'm just keeping skills up hoping that CCP makes a move on something. Realistically though, if I don't see some improvements within the next couple months, I'll be quitting. There are too many good MMOs out right now to wait on this one.

Rather than ad-hoc nonsense, and "this one time, I logged on and only saw like 2 people online" why don't you take a look at eve-offline?
The truth is that the last year HAS seen growth in the player count. You could argue that the growth is somethat slight, compared to what it ought to be, but there are not 20,000 people missing from the game.
And yes, a lot of account have been banned for botting - and a lot of people would have unsubbed their bot accounts by themselves after getting a suspension for doing it. The fact that you pathetic whiners can simultaneously say "BAN ALL BOTTERS!!!!!!!!!!!" and then say "OMG ACCOUNTS ARE MISSING!!!" is full on special, it really is.
Oh, and Eve has been dying since 2004 ... didn't you know? -------

Has suffered from really bad programming and planning, slowly starting to take move into better. Over 10 years in business. Only PVP and it requires huge player skill.
Has great potential, free trial without credit card.
NOTE! Not for bunnyhopping FPS shooter gamers without any attention span.

LOL - some of you kids really like to stretch facts, eh?
Whilst I'm not disputing there has been a drop in population, the 70K+ you're talking about was a ONE-TIME PCU of 63k - hardly pushing 70k, except in your imagination - and this number came during AT8 so is not exactly a "standard benchmark" we should be all using.
but i know, a little black silhouette like you is FAR happier if they can shout "EvE is dying!" every time you pay your sub/buy a plex, eh?
For the OP - you can see yourself what's going on. There has definitely been a drop (look at the "Past Three Months" graph) but there are arguably some mitigating factors (higher system reqs for CQ, banning of bots) for this - either way, as bad as this might look, we'll only truly know what's going to happen to EvE by watching the sub numbers over the next year or two. CCP could easily fix this, it just remains to be seen if they want to.
EDIT: There are 44,470 online now. What are you crying about again?
