I was wondering if anyone could give me a few good Megathron setups.
I'm interested in finding a good sniper setup as well as a blaster thron setup. I have noticed that there are topics on blasterthrons already in the forum but not sure if anything is changed or anything need to be adapted.
Thnks in advance, Juda

Sniperthron -
7 x 425mm rails w/ Iridium and Plutonium 1 x Rocket launcher w/ defenders
1 x Sensor Booster 3 x Tracking Computers
5 x Mag Stabs 2 x Tracking Enhancers
Blasterthron -
7 x Ion Blasters 1 x Heavy Nos
1 x Web 1 x Scrambler 1 x MWD 1 x Heavy Cap Injector w/ 800 charges
3 x Hardeners (exp, kin and thermal) 1 x Large armor rep 1 x Med armor rep 1 x Mag Stab 1 x RCU II
Both Setups do need 5/5/4 on fitting skills afaik.
Have fun.

no chance to put that on blasterthron. Even with electrons and 5/5/5 skills you would have problems if you drop rcuII and put mag stabII instead.
So Try to fit things first then post on forum. problem: med slots: 170cpu if you use named stuff low slots: ~231 if you use N-type hardeners & large accomodation, med t2 aru & 2x mag stabII. 286cpu left: that makes max 41cpu/gun if you have 7 guns on. ions use 60cpu, so with maxed skills 45cpu. Stick to electrons, they are not so bad in the end, and avoid: ravens, scorps with jammers, gankageddons, priest dominix(ok you might kill him, if he does not use jammers), sniper tempest, ganka tempest with ac-s... did i forgot something?
Calculate first, post later.
Question for ccp: WHY ARE LARGE BLASTERS IN GAME, IF NO SHIP CAN REALLY USE EM?

im testing some blaster setups with basic modules only almost :) here is one that is doable
7 x electrons 1 x nos
1 x mwd 1 x large booster 2 x web (if npc hunting if pvp 1 x web) 1 x scrambler 7.5 km(if pvp)
1 x large rep 4 x hardeners (the only named stuff) for other lows you can fitt 1 x med rep and 1 x magnetic or 2 x 1600mm plates tho after testing this out some i whould rule out the plates and go for magnetics you will kill so mutch faster with just one extra magnetic that makes you tank better then with 2 plates im not done with the testing tho but im done with high and med fittings

for pvp dmg mods are must have, unless you want to be outtanked by n00bs in apoc.
Oh and did i forgot to mention how useless is MT in fleets, so we are looking for 1vs1 here.

Why do people always post a "one size fits all" PvP setup? This DOES NOT work for the thron, as I think there should be PvP, Ganking (or not really ganking, but 'gate protecting' ), small scale battles (10 or less), and WTFequipanythingandhopeyoudon'tgethit large scale fleet wars.
Also, you should not even try to use your Megathron in PvP, imo, until you have at least Level 5 Electronics, Level 5 Engineering, and Level 4 Weapons Upgrades. Most of these setups require level 5 in all of these skills, along with ~100 extra CPU (taking into account mostly named gear).

Fleet fights are almost never close range so megathron with 425's is great for them --------------------------------------

I was taking 5/5/5 skills into calculations. And ions don't fit. (<- period). Oh and did you have a look at T2 blasters. Electrons for t3h win, ions use 66cpu(49.5 with wpn upgrades lvl5), so 346.5 for 7guns. That is way too much. As stated above, you need ~170cpu for med slots and 230 for low slots. And this with named stuff all the way.
I wonder if they intend to make caldari bs blasterships.

Sniperthron maybe. Good tracking and damage. However, the blasterthron is seriously wrong. Engineering 5 = 19,375MW Your top rack load out = 16,000MW alone Plus the middle = 19,000MW Annnnnd the lows = oooops large rep aint gonna happen!
This set up works with 7 x electron blasters though. Named ones are better than t2 until the t2 ammo gets here and aren't that expensive. This set up allows you to play about and try to fit an ion or two depending on your skills. Enjoy.

Edited by: LUKEC on 13/03/2005 12:08:30 i really wonder about those ions setup. Cause you cannot fit cap injecton & MWD and t2 electrons(far better fitting than almost all ions) without leaving 8. high slot empty.
