A few days ago wrote a post saying I was looking for a Corp/Alliance that would give an environment that would allow me to learn PvP.
RvB was suggested to me.
What new players need to understand is that contrary to what they claim, this is NOT a "New Player Friendly" Corporation.
When you join these people, you are essentially giving another corporation free kill rights on you, even in high sec. You are essentially making the game HARDER for yourself. You aren't learning anything. You are simply free kills for veterans in these corporations.
They do not host classes. They don't make videos or lectures. They don't even really do a good job of answering questions in chat.
I lost my Caracal earlier today and 5 minutes ago I was podded in a .5 system. That's still considered high sec. They do not have (or if they do they do not enforce) ANY rules on podding or killing outside of scheduled events.
I am not trying to trash the corporation. I am trying to inform new players, because they aren't being honest about what they really are. This is NOT a training corporation, which is what I requested and a member recommended I apply claiming that this is what they were.
Newbs, don't be someone's free kill. Stay the hell away from RvB. |

So they throw you in the water and say "Sink, or swim."?
My stepdad did that to me. Wasn't so bad, and I did learn how to treddle water in a few moments at least. Pretty sure I already had that knowledge instinctively, but whatever.
If you want classes, I think Agony Unleashed offers them. Maybe I was actually sleeping in front of my computer and dreamed I posted. Certainly, it's not there now. |

This isn't the experience I had. People were always willing to answer questions in corp and R-V-B. Did you join their noobfleet channel? They'll give you ships and (I think) skillbooks. By the way, if you're learning PvP, fly frigates.
Lectures and all that don't actually teach you anything. Keep getting out there and losing ships. You learn a lot from failure.
I think you should talk to a team leader about the podding - the other player I think is expected to replace the loss or be kicked. |

In other news it was recently discovered water is wet.
If you want to learn in classes attend Eve Uni. If you want to learn in a more direct but still easier way than most of us then join RvB.
BTW, they do enforce podding policy unless you are a ****. I had a 50 mil bounty on my head and it was never claimed even when I hung around battles in my pod. Maybe you were a whiney asshat like you are on here. |

Okay....for the child up top that typed possibly the oldest meme in history (U Mad Bro). No, I'm not angry. I am however frustrated in that I specifically requested a corp that TRAINS. And a member recommended I join KNOWING this is what I was looking for. If the sink or swim model is what they do, that's fine. But again, I was led to believe otherwise. I think it's pretty fair in requesting that they inform new players that, while yes PvP will take place, they do not TRAIN. They should also inform new players that they will be free targets to veterans with 5mill+ skill points. This is NOT made clear. RvB is fronted as a PvP training corp (or at least it was to me). It is not. That's all I'm saying. If people are getting their tampons in a bunch over this, that's on them. Nothing I'm saying is unreasonable. |

People learn differently. I actually learn a lot from E-Uni's lectures in their archives. As I posted before, the only thing keeping me from E-Uni is the ridiculous app process. |

But the real intend is just to have some PvP fun without politic and the need to join a low/null powerblock. (And they DO have rules about PODing!) Why the hell can't I fitt capital repairs or shield booster on an Orca ... it's an CAPITAL ship! |

Maybe they actually grief new players by bringing them int Corp..
..actually, that isn't a bad lesson. I think Blue Republic is supposed to be the good guys, and Red Federation is supposed to be the bad guys. So, being as you're in Blue Republic, you've had your first experience of the bad guys in EVE. Pretty standard fair actually.
Don't fly an Indy in War time; it's not a good idea. Aside from that, it would be nice if they actually helped you out a bit, but I suppose all the 'university' corps have gotten bored of helping, if they ever were into it. Personally, I'd hesitate to start anything like that, because I know I'm not going to continue enjoying helping people over long periods of time.
Go read the War and Tactics forum, or pop on battle clinic, or check killboards if you want to see what people do, what their opinions are, and etc.. in EVE. Not necessarly in that order of course.
If you want to Stay in RvB and learn something, I suggest only going out when in Fleet and listen to the FC. Also, fly a cheapish ship; Frigate preferably, or use a shuttle for quick transport. ..and, remember they can podkill you if they want. Maybe I was actually sleeping in front of my computer and dreamed I posted. Certainly, it's not there now. |

RvB doesn't particularly present itself as a noob training corp, they just accept noob members. No, they won't do lectures, because lectures and boring and teach you jack about PvP. Why did you assume that entering one side in a war the other side wouldn't shoot at you? I'd reason that's standard bloody practice in a war. |

If they're tired of training and just want to kill, then their members shouldn't front them as a training corp. That's ALL I'm saying, but people like the glue-sniffer above me (the tear miner idiot) don't get that apparently. New players will join these people thinking they'll be trained, when in reality its just a non-stop war situation, and you're a free kill to exp players who just pod the hell out of you and you don't learn anything. You just keep getting killed. |

Hi,
I think it was me that answered you question about being rejected the first time from RvB ,
So i will look at the pod lose first
It was to a third party war not an RvB member actually so was your cruiser ,
next up
They do not host classes. They don't make videos or lectures. They don't even really do a good job of answering questions in chat.
Nope note 100% as well, Hojou Does Noobfleet class's most weekends and does a pretty good job at them. Also most of the people in the noobfleet channel will do traing fights where you can get a grip on the tactics involed in small man fights and 1v1s.
That's still considered high sec. They do not have (or if they do they do not enforce) ANY rules on podding or killing outside of scheduled events.
Yes we do, anyone who pods a fellow RvB member has to pay for thier implants, as i said above you where podded by a 3d party war target.
I am trying to inform new players, because they aren't being honest about what they really are.
To answer this i will copy a bit from our standard recruitment page
New to PvP? Whether you've been shooting asteroids for 5 years or finally got tired of playing your orc warrior in WOW RvB is the best place to get your first taste of PvP.
RvB does not force you to attend long classes, wait a month to jump through the hoops of our recruitment process, or follow a strict set of rules.
Instead we offer new pilots to learn through the most effective way, experience.
There are plenty of veteran pilots who will give you all the 1v1s you want and at the same time provide you with all the fits, tips, pointers, and help that you will need to become a spaceship killing machine.
Please note that we say we DO NOT have classes, we offer experience not hand holding.
Again, the MEMBER WHO REFERRED ME IMPLIED that it was a TRAINING CORP. Therefor I joined with the intention of joining a TRAINING CORP.
Actually i said
Please note , we don't teach so much as we will point you in the right direction and smile when you get yourself blown to pieces. If you do join us make sure you join the noobfleet (instructions will be in your welcome mail.).

Just join OUCH, Open University of Celestial Hardship. All you have to do is open up the corp information and join. I believe OUCH-UNI is their recruiting chat room in game. They will train you how to survive and use comms, your interface and all that stuff properly. |
