Those people who say this is just a game an there is no need for a larger plan are totally wrong. Its what some people enjoy - planning, scheming, plotting and all the rest of the crap with it. Others enjoy mining (ohmygodnoes, realy, its true... dunno why but some do.) Others enjoy shooting stuff (npc or pc), and each group requires the others (possible exception being pvp'ers who could just roam and gank/pirate)
My two cents to this, except that, if those Imp pilots who can't take friends leaving to other area's must whine about it , perhaps it wasn't worth being alongside them forever anyways or summit like that. Just bored and avoiding work....

Edited by: Skelator on 15/03/2005 22:16:46 I for one semi-agree with what Karrimdra posted.
But I also believe that Home is where you hang your hat. Your loyalties MUST be to the alliance you have sided with.
As for the its just a game theory this partially is true.
But to be totally honest the funnest part of the game is the friendships I have made with people from all over the world and the good conversation in teamspeak. If I had to state my favorite thing about this game that would be it.
Now we ALL have one or even two people/close old friends that we will never fire on if we meet them alone in a quiet solar system... That is just a part of life.
But that changes when its you and your fleet against them and their fleet .. then the option to look the other way dissappears because your layalties as I stated above MUST be to your alliance. (Watch out slip66 )

Edited by: Maasu on 16/03/2005 05:06:24 I had to post this fker quickly cos i was in the computer lab here at uni and people were starting to ask me what a NAP meant. So for the sake of my dignity and image irl i had to get this posted quickly, b4 people realised i played teh mmorpg. :(
/me sighs
The intention of this thread was never really to justify my actions, nor anyone elses. It was to provide my opinon on whats been going on. The forum has been crap as of recent tbh. With most people's topics getting banned or being way off.
This was just to spark a discussion with regards something thats gone on, via the proper means, expression an opinion of what you have interpreted of the situation.
If this is appears to be an attempt to look eweet then i do apologise, i never meant too, i was always under the guise that i was already eweet and no longer needed to further my image. I mean shessh i've been spamming these forums / corp chats / alliance chats / team speaks for almost 2 years now. I thought i was already teh pwn :(.
Again it's just an opinion on a forum that needs them tbh, valid ones, ones that don't get locked and don't get flamed.
I'm not trying to justify any decision dream mate. It's folly to even bother, even if i was convinced myself the decision was right, it's even harder to convince others. Sure i put an explanation in there as to why i left. This was merley to feed the taste of those reading, to show some inside info.
One last note, Saladin i was being a sarcastic git mate, i if anything admire what you, mkultra etc have done. It's was never my intention to single you out an attack you. Believe it or not, throughout my time in ca i actually liked you.

Edited by: KIAInkZ on 16/03/2005 08:53:47 EVE is only a game, and I'd shoot any of my friends and not feel bad about it.
We've had corp m8s go pirate etc, and we have a great laugh every time they end up on our kill board.
Some people take this game too personally. You're not really killing your m8, it's not like you're going round his house and putting a nkife in his chest.
The only time I'd feel betrayed and upset is if m8s plotted against you somehow. If it's a simple, I'm joining this side now, need a change in the game, then good luck to him, and he'll be first target forever ;).
This game is getting old now, and directions need to change to keep it fresh, hence KIA's decision. We've now got the freedom to change our direction whenever we get bored and keep the game fun.
As for Aneu, he works hard for the alliance and is deadly loyal. I can understand why he may rub some people up the wrong way, but he can be counted on. Props to VOTF for sticking up for their corp m8s.
I think some people need to loose their personal grudges, it's only a game so keep it fun, and appreciate the opportunity you get to meet different personalities from all over the world.
Also, yeah, peace is bad for a PVP alliance. clusterf**ks are no fun either. Three way fights are not 4tw. ---

TBH I had a word with Maasu just now on TS, and he said he joined ATUK cos he worships Harry Potter like Estios and wanted to talk about it with him.
He also said that he really hates nearly everyone in ex CA and wants to kill them all, all the time and is only pretending to be friendly as he wants less people to shoot him before he can ebily gank them from behind while they wave and smile at him.
Now that peace is reigning supreme,(no pun intended for once!) Maasu is having a great time with most of ATUK whoring missions in Empire, and stockpiling Veldspar. We all now fly Navy Apocs with 8 x Miner II's on.
Seriously.

Heh this thread seems somewhat redundant and I dont know why it was created.
The reality for me is a bit like this: It's like your best friend in school, who had your back when you were being bullied has now joined the bullies and cant understand why you feel betrayed. He knocks on your door and asks why you wont talk to him anymore. He tries to convince you that the move was about "fun" and there was no ill intent, and we can all be friends, even if it means he has to beat the snot out of you and steal your lunch money when it's needed..
I, and others like me, feel screwed over by the people that joined ATUK, even de-motivated to play the game anymore.
It doesnt matter how many explanatory posts they put up on E-O forums, it isn't going to change that feeling.

think what he means and its my personal meaning aswell is that you dont need to hate the persons you blow up... just look at the end between SA and CA, we had a great deal of respect for our adversaries and that made the fights even more enjoyable for me atleast.
you knew that the other side would seldom resort to dirty tricks and underhand tactics. Plus you had a laugh about it in local afterwards
Its all about enjoying the game really.

It's a game and each and everyone has it's goals and dreams in it. Some love to PvP, some need a break. Some love to mine and some need a break Some love to do agent missions and some take a break from that aswell.
Friendships are made and friendships die in the sands of time. For me it's real simple. I fight and die for the people I side with. And I die a lot cause I am crappy at PvP, but I hate hugging a station or a safespot while otehrs might be in trouble I am sided with. I get shot by people I have good chats with and I get shot by smacktalkers. Some I respect for their fine skills in 1 vs 1 and others I loath cause they only know how to blob and smack.
In the end I turn off my PC and have a real life next to EVE. Knowing there are some people in the game I would have a hard time shooting at and some I can't shoot enough. I have some mates in this game I know longer then I play EVE, some even in my corp. This however doesn't mean we will never ever shoot eachother. Things can happen when people take different choices. And then you face eachother in a battle. Some you will hang out with in a nice and secluded system and just have fun with again till the next fight. Some will slander you for your choices.
But still at the end it's a game and each has his own agenda.

You're not even playing the game mate heh. That analogy is a little daft, considering im not actually shooting at supremacy. Don't get me wrong the opportunity to pod Heid and Wiz is oh so mouth watering.

Monki, you might not realise that a lot of the people who left Suprm felt screwed over by you when we were in supremacy. You were the one threatening to kick people all the time, and you were the one who nominated NONE of the older most experienced players in the corp to become "Veterans". Instead you nominated the few people who you liked best. I'm glad i no longer fly with you, however i miss plenty of the people who still are with suprm.

well as far as i know, OC used to kick ppl quite a lot but that got nuffin to do with Supremacy. What has to do with supremacy is that there was too much politics going on within the corp ie certain ppl wanting to rule the roost etc etc. Perfect example was tatz saying that 0mega (CEO) had to get permission from directors to do wot he was wanting to do within his corp once thol gave up his co-ceo status with the corp. But wots done is done and life goes on and all that jazz, but obviously Massu and a few of the guys are missin some of the old crew and vice versa, so i dont, personally, see there any probs with the post. And yes i will admit that i was one of the many who wanted to see ppl get kicked if they werent active enough within the corp and to that i stand by my reasons for that and will continue to play this game by the same standards. anyway thats my 2 quids worth lol heidbanger

I'm personally of the opinion that the real problem many large groups have is that to many aspects of it end up being based off of subjective opinions. It is all to easy to end up in situations where one person or one corp is heavily active at times when most of the rest of the Alliance is inactive or offline.
They get ticked because they're one of, maybe, 10 people online at the time, yet at the same time, because they're offline when the rest of the Alliance/corp is active, everyone thinks they're slacking. You end up with these marvelous witch-hunts that end up fracturing groups.

Quote: I was incharge of certain diplomatic issues, and this involved talking to many different corps both whom we were fighting and flying with. Now what was interesting is that i was only ever insulted once. Of all the places it was on imperium teamspeak, by an imperium ceo whom i'd never met nor talked to. Over an incident that really shouldn't of been an issue. Now when i say insulted i'm not talking about a little pull of the leg. His officer had to come sort it explaining he was 'drunk' etc.
