Welcome to the Security Status, CONCORD, and NPCs section of this forum! Please thouroughly read the information posted so that your understanding can be maximized! There is a security system in this game, known as CONCORD. CONCORD will destroy your ship if you are sighted attacking a "peaceful entity" such as a stargate or a player with a positive security status (See EVElopedia for security status). CONCORD's strength in a system is defined as a systems Security Rating, Better known as High Sec (1.0-0.5), Lowsec (0.4-0.1) and nullsec (0.0). [There are also WORMHOLES in EVE and they have a -1.0 Security rating and CONCORD cannot help you.] CONCORD will attack you at any chance they get if you have negative security, or have a GLOBAL CRIMINAL COUNTDOWN. This countdown is aquired by attacking a Peaceful Entity or another player that has one of two things - A bounty which has been posted by someone to collect upon your death, or a NEGATIVE SECURITY STATUS. Negative Security is gained by repeatedly offending CONCORD's laws. When you achieve a Negative Security Status or Global Criminal Countdown, other players can attack you without aquiring a Global Criminal or AGRESSION COUNTDOWN. but the odds of them finding you decrease as a systems security rating goes down. Global Criminal Countdowns (GCC) and Agression Countdowns (AC) last for fifteen (15) minutes upon attacking a peaceful entity. PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO NOTE: THE GCC WILL RESET TO 15 MINUTES EVERY TIME YOU ARE ATTACKED BY CONCORD! Apart from GCCs and ACs, there are also seperate timers, known as CORPORATION AGRESSION TIMERS. These timers countdown starting at 15 minutes, but do not run with ACs or GCCs. When attacking a player from another corporation, you gain an agression timer against that corporation, and they have legal rights to attack you. YOU MUST ALSO BEWARE: Docking at a station belonging to a corporation that you have a CAT with will result in the stations defenses opening fire on your ship. So you must pay attention to all of your agression timers while trying to roam around HiSec space. A couple words of advice: Stealing unsecure cargo containers from other corporations or players gives you an AC too, and also a CAT with the other corporation or player. ALSO When in a fleet with other players, ATTACKING A FLEET MEMBER WILL ALSO EARN YOU A GCC AC AND/OR CAT. You will NOT recieve a countdown timer for attacking someone of your own corporation, OR anyone from an opposing faction (EX: I play for the Caldari. I will not get a timer for attacking the Minmitar, Amarr, etc etc). You also do not recieve an agression countdown for attacking a hostile entity in a MISSION. You WILL recieve one for attacking an NPC in LoSec space. The last thing I would like to cover today is SENTRY GUNS. Sentry Guns attack anyone who has a GCC, or a CAT with the station the sentry belongs to if you have a CAT with that corp. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Sentry guns are INVINCIBLE, and deal massive amounts of damage of ALL TYPES. So be extremely cautious when nearing them. If multiple people have a countdown with that sentry, the sentry will cycle through all players in its range that have a countdown. I would like to wish all of you the best of luck in New Eden, and request that this topic be stickied/moved to the top of the thread. Any further questions please feel free to send me an EVEmail or a PM on the forums! |

I didn't fully read it, but there are some errors I noticed. For example, if you have negative security status and you enter a high security system, CONCORD doesn't do squat until you attack a neutral party. What does engage you is the faction police, and they are considerably less dangerous. |
