So I tried out the test server last night first time I have been on there since 2008 I think. Anyway it is nice to see ship spinning back although I had an issue. I would only get ship spinning if I logged in while in a station after being in space and docking all I would see is a static picture of the space background. I was docked as the mouse pointer would change so that I could spin my ship only there was no ship no hanger just a static picture of the space backdrop.
Just a heads up before you role this out although I am sure you are already aware of this one. |

Same problem too. Appears to be a problem with the spinning ship. |

Workaround that worked for me: Enter CQ, then turn around and click the little ship manipulation doodad near the pod undock to go back to ship spinning mode, and it loaded up the spinning correctly. |

Yes this seems to happen when redocking after being in hanger view. It doesn't seem to happen when redocking from CQ. As Seatox said workaround is enter CQ. |

Yes, I'll take your word for the work around. I can't really use it because if I enter CQ it usually takes a couple of minutes to load and when I do get there I can't move as my framerate has gone through the floor compared to FiS. I too have noticed the background instead of the hangar after docking. Still as this is Sisi we have to hope that this will be sorted out before it is moved to Tranquility. Won't it?
I have noticed on the two occasions that I logged onto Sisi since the patch that although I can get to the hangar and spin my ship, (which is a blessed relief) once I get to CQ to actually do anything like contact an agent, I can't see a way to go back to the hangar. i.e there is no equivalent of the blue chevrons that take you to CQ from the hangar. It would make more sense if there was a way to interact with station services whilst in the hangar and not have to keep running backwards and forwards.
Slightly offtopic. Why has the static picture stayed that of the Minmatar CQ? Surely you should have a static of the relevant CQ according to the station you are in. |

Getting back into Ship Spinning Mode from CQ - you need to click on the little holographic image of your ship on the balcony near your pod. Yeah, not exactly intuitive. |

I had the same issue when i first docked....my work-around was to simply relog ( I'm on a craptop so am too darned sceeered of CQ).
Still need to try undocking/redocking tho to see if this issue persists. |

That's exactly the problem. I *can't* use CQ. As I said my framerate makes that impossible. Sadly, this on a dual core 64 bit PC with 4 Gb of ram etc. No idea why it should be so bad, using Linux does drop the framerate a bit but not to the extent I have just now. Might have to get a 2Gb video card, sigh. |

Which is one of those odd things about CQ - I'm running the SiSi client on my 5-going-on-6 year old laptop with one of those crunky ATI mobility radeons in it, and it works at a useable framerate at the lowest detail settings - the card heats up, sure, but it works.
Have you tried dialing back the graphics settings in the client? It could be the CQ's shaders or lighting doing bad, buggy stuff with your 64-bit OS and/or graphics card drivers, and turning them off as much as you can could 1) get CQ working, and 2) form a basis for a bug report to CCP.

Yes, I have the graphics pretty much turned down to low everywhere I can. I have been fiddling around with resolutions on Sisi but even running at 1024x768 it's a real struggle, and believe me, 1024x768 is NOT pretty on a 24" widescreen!
As for sending in a bug report, forget it. Remember I'm using Linux and as far as CCP are concerned, we do not exist. So no support from CCP; it's do-it-yourself time for us Penguinistas. Though having said that, Linux folks are usually pretty helpful and supportive with problems like this, it's just that I have yet to discover a thread on this particular topic and a resolution. Still, there's hope yet. |
