We've been having a discussion in corp chat where a couple of people seem to think that it's possible for modules to take damage without being overloaded.
I've done a lot of searching and can't find any references to support this. As far as I'm aware, the only way for a module to take damage is by overloading it, is this right or can they take damage in any other way? |

well the ship could blow up, and sometimes mods take damage that way,
you could overload a module in the same rack, but not that particular module... (overload 1 gun and the other guns will take damage)

The only other cause is when your ship is heavily damaged. |

Do you have any links to something that would support this though? I've looked all over and can't find anything that says anywhere that you can damage modules in any way other than overloading (Directly or indirectly from another module on same rack). |

I'm pretty sure that once you're in structure, your mods start taking damage as well. I'm not positive though, and I can't find any references to it either. |

Must be awfully rare in that case, since I've gone into structure plenty of times in recent memory, and never once did it have an effect on any of my modules. |

i think a few times ive gotten below 25% structure and ive received module damage, but i cant confirm that,
ill try it out sometime and check again. ...............................................................................

I'm pretty sure its only when you're in deep structure. I've had to repair modules after nearly failing missions (back when my character was new) when I didn't even have thermo trained. |

deep structure. 25% if I'm not mistaken. like damage starts to leak to armour/structure when you are low on shield/armour, same thing happens when you're in deep structure.
of course that in the case of the shield->armour leakage, that can be minimized by training tactical shield manipulation, but for armour and structure, there is no such skill.

Happened to me exactly once, and I don't think I was 75% of the way into structure. Had a utility high that wasn't even on take some damage.
OTOH, I've been down to 2% structure before and only taken damage from overloading. Probably no easily definable hard and fast rule on it. |
