If you want to train an other char too. Then buy a new account. CCP would be cutting in their own wallet if they would allow that.

Noooo! Everyone will have one fighter, one builder/researcher, one market trader!
If anything, remove the ability to have two alts per account!

There is no point in having three characters on one account - in fact the game would be better off without them. Everyone has realized it but the powers that be.

I like having my two alts. Allows me to spy, allows me to check prices for trade and stuff in different regaions, allows me to haul with low risk characters and place buy/sell orders. I keep my main account for the important stuff and the 2 alts have a couple of weeks training each.
Its too late to dump the alts now thank good.

1 char per account make sense in so many ways. If we didnt have alts think of the intel service business that could open up. Transport services. You would actually see more variety in Eve without alts.
People would be responsible for their actions and we might get a better balanced game.

Alts are good for doing things that you main may not be good at due to attributes and the related training time.
I don't use an alt for "spying", my main can fly covert ops which is far superior, but alts are good for checking the empire market or production/refining (obviously not as good skill wise in comparison with a dedicated producer/refiner).
I also hate the people that use n00b ships in alts to "spy", they are a real "pain in the preverbial". -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein |

Sure, let us train multiple characters at once... If you'll give me two years of training on both my alts :P
Then again, let's not. Really, we shouldn't even have alts, but there you go.

They should let us train at least one other character besides the main, they let us train all three alts in beta, but due to greed decided not to in retail one more instance of gettin ****ed over by the man
so guess now if u want more than one char u have to shell out more money, which is what Everything in the way this is played is designed to do btw from the training times down to no alts, woooot lets hear it for ccp and greedy *****ERS

So, you come into the system in a covert ops ship. I'm mining in a belt in empire. See you in local and move to a ss or insta-dock. Game over.
On the other hand without alts you could hire someone with covert skills to track me down, where I live, my movements and possibly lead you straight to the prey. All while I am unaware.

TBH I think they only let us train all 3 at the same time during beta was to encourage diversity, people were prepared to "test" (that's why it was a beta program after all) more things out using different characters. -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." If CCP were doing this purely for cash they wouldn't have create a niche product like Eve. Having one character you are responsible for your actions in the virtual world. Having alts you can do as you please and throw them away when done.

One character per account sucks.
Atm I have my main on one account with no others, and on my alt account I have a Hauler/Miner with L10 Mining, Large Barge and Iteron 4 skills. I also have a trainee fighter on this account as the Hauler no longer needs to train.
Training should be limited to one character though, in any other game where training is done by the level grind, and you can't grind 2 characters on the same account.
If you want 1 character per account, I hope CCP want to transfer my characters to seperate accounts and give me one for free!!! Eck Stavo - CEO Section Nine.

Why should you get a account for free? I am still not conviced on why anyone would use an alt other then to give other players a hard time. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- I am not paying $15 a month to play a immature a-hole. |

I will dissagree with training two charactors on the same account, for the reasons that have been given before.
One thing I would like to mention. Right now I have two trained charactors on one account. A builder, and a fighter/covert opps pilot. In a while there should be 3 trained charactors as I am saving to buy a trained charactor and transfer it to my account.
Personally, I can niether afford, or have the computer(s) to run 5 accounts. So I'm against the idea of one charactor per account. Though I can see the reasons for it.

This is exactly NOT the purpose of alts. Although this is the only thing they are really used for. To exploit as a tool of your main char. You can do things as an alt and not risk death, like spying, because you dont care if the alt dies. And can go into empire if you are a pirate... in otherwords... its for cheating the system. THAT is why people don't want alts removed. (Okay, and a FEW people use them as other characters, to experience a different aspect of the game, or play another race, though so few even roleplay at all, this use is negligible).

I'm against losing alts just because some idiots abuse them - I have my main, Sokudo, who's a builder and a few months ago I started PVP'ing as a side-track with an alt, because I was bored in empire.
I don't regard this as abuse, nor do I see anything wrong with this - I didn't want to try PVP and forever wreck my character's chances of a peaceful life just because someone didn't like his ex-corp, and I didn't want the overheads of a huge clone bill, just because I have all those industrial and production skills... mainly because I wasn't trained for combat and wasn't sure if I'd like it.
I would be happy if they reduced the number of alt slots to 2 and kept the current learning scheme (although half speed for the secondary character would be nice). I think that people ought to be allowed to try other ways of playing without having to abandon their existing characters or pay double. Perhaps if they have 1 per account, they should charge reduced amounts for secondary accounts and have them tied into the main account... although if they reduce the number of alts, I for one would expect a reduction in subscription since some of us would need to pay for multiple accounts to keep the current standard of play and losing alt slots would also devalue the accounts' values.
