I gave up trying to guess a long time ago.
Even when they announce something is going to be in a patch, most of the time a portion is left out.
Not that I'm complaining, as I'd rather have the game work than put in buggy stuff that makes everything crash.
I would like to see each race get a third battleship choice before Dreadnaughts are released.

After titans in most sci-fi worlds would come the equivalent of a death star from Star Wars. Something that really is end-game. Something that would be owned by perhaps only the biggest alliances. Something that would take months to build and would require some new POS equipment to build it from thousands of pre-built components, each component being manufactured in stations at the expense of the current Tech 2 ships. It would be the size of a small moon and require hundreds of millions of ISK worth of fuel to use the jump drive. It would be the core of an army and to have two would make an alliance practically invinceable, being able to keep one at home and invade with a fleet backed by the other. It would have ten pilots, each taking up a station such as gunner, secondary gunner, shield maintenance, propulsion and such. That's how I see it :P. We'll see if I'm right in about ten years. Eh? :P

/waits for t2 destroyers...
I think after they get all these proposed ships out they could maybe look at reskinning some of the ships? Ferox looks so much nicer than my Ravie
Then maybe work just on bugs and game features

and it would have a little thermal exhaust porttat yould only hit with a noob laser in a noob ship, but would kill it :) --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

Historically then, would a lone Ibis be able to take it out? (Assuming Ibis' have launchers)

Titans are the largest possible ships from an RP perspective... They are Motherships/Deathstars, whatever you want to call them. --------

A ship that can build titans would be next. A super uber huge command carrier with build in shipyard or something.

well, the Titan class could be considered a mothership, but in starwars terms, it's much more akin to either the Super Star Destroyer, or Bulwark Battlecruiser (Alliance side's big ol ship)...
a Deathstar however is the size of a small moon, and even a titan is going to be diminutive to such a thing.
The lore on one titan that came too close to a planet disrupted its tides from the sheer mass of the titan, so it is big enough to have considerable relative gravity, but it's not even close to the scale of a planet or even a moon.
so Titans are VERY big, no doubt about it, but a "deathstar" is simply colossal and that word just doesn't do it justice.
as a side note, there are even things bigger than a deathstar though...
things like a Dyson Sphere (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyson_sphere) are necessary to be at least many thousands of kilometers in diameter and the ones typically theorised are atleast 1AU in Radius or more.
now while not intended to be a destructive thing, something that enormous with the nearly inexhaustable power of a star as its "reactor", it could quite likely mount and operate enough weaponry to rip through everyone in the game simultaneously and hardly get all of its batteries laid to bare on us before we're all vaporised :D lol
hmmm... I hope I haven't given the devs any ideas that will come back to haunt me...

Or is that the Dyson ball?

Titan - T1 (Now that's a big ship. Comes with free fuzzy dice.) Mega Titan - T2 (Really big. This will definately will make up for your lack in the tools dept.) Increadable big Titan - T3 (It won't fit your screen that big. You need to get a 29" HD LCD screen for this one.) Insane Titan - T4 (They are nuts to put ships this big, a inty cannot circle it because its bigger than than the max distance. Used to transport space stations.) Uber Titan - T5 (This baby can swallow and munch up whole planets. Yum yum. Only available if you spend over 5000$ at the Eve store.) ___________________________ Favorite bumpersticker of the month: My head hurts! |

Next comes ringworlds. Giant rings, 1au in radius, that circle a star. They are capable of focusing the star's exhaust to propel the entire star through space and to use the star as a gigantic fusion cannon of doom.
Please note: this idea came from Niven's series of books "Ringworld", which was published in the 1970's. If anyone mentions Halo, I will send a horde of norse raiders to pillage your house. Halo ripped off this idea for their game and all of a sudden people are praising this game for coming up with such an "original" idea. It wasn't their idea.

I'd say next we're likely to see infrastructure improvements.
My ideas:
Hire-on convoys that work like the ones in Empire (NPC) but are tied to corps.
Shipyards that only provide factory services but at a rediculously fast rate, and are only availible for 0.0 deployment. They would have an in-space right-click interface for craft within 500m and would interact directly with a special "hangar" cargo container.
Refineries that do the same as the shipyards but for reprocessing and refining.
Drones that zoom around POS as a line of defense.
Defender missile battery turrets for POS deployment.
Research stations that react the same as refineries and shipyards
"Juggernaut" battleships that have only one highslot, 6-8 midslots (with bonuses for hardener use), and 1 or 2 lowslots. They would have a new turret fitting called a "Doomsday" hardpoint, and it would only fire straight ahead. It would turn like a legless hippo, and automatically aim toward a selected target with module activation. One blast would drain the entire capacitor, and could only be fired with a full capacitor (i.e., hardeners off). It would have 100% chance to hit and splash damage, and do roughly 20000 damage per shot with a splash falloff of roughly 80km and splash damage falling out from 20000 to 4000 damage. Obviously, this could take out a POS or entire fleet in one shot, but can only be fired once every 10 minutes due to the lousy cap recharge rate. The cap would be insanely high so even support ships couldn't do much for it. The weapons would be variations on Beams (amarr), Blasters (Gallente), Rails (Caldari), and Cannons (minmatar).
Mining stations that would interact with hired NPC convoys. Deploy the mining station in a belt, access the massive mining station can like one would a jet can, and stream your mins into it for auto-hauling. Only deployable in 0.0. "You Griefer!!!" = "You Doodyhead!!!" |
