Hi my fellow pill takers...capsuleers...whatever,
http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2012/10/23/ps3-lv0-keys-leaked-cfw-released-security-hole-reportedly-unpatchable/
What does this actually mean? Does this mean people will be able to play games for free? Will they be able to play online? If so will they be anonymous? Could they install hacks?
And you ISD forum alts this is reported news, not rumour-mongering or slander or ranting.
Thanks in advance you ranting, slanderous, rumour-mongers. WARNING: The current poster is erratic, prone to error and generally blissfully unaware due to the taking of many hard drugs over the course of many years - most of them legal. |

It will make f2p games less attractive to people with cracked boxes.
But it isn't as if Dust514 was extremely attractive to start with. |

Yes. With custom firmware, hacking games will be possible. As for playing online, my PSP can (or at least did last time I tried) play games online on PSN so I'd assume the same methods could be used for a PS3. |

So it's not slander, ranting or rumour-Mongering to hypothesize that someone may play dust with an aimbot? If you had left that part out, the moderators would have no reason to look at your post. In the meantime, you could edit it out so that you don't draw attention for trolling or personal attacks.
As for the implications of the PS3 being hacked: the people using aimbots will know ahead of time that using aimbots too often will lead to your account being banned, regardless of presence or absence of detection software on the client.
F2P games might become less attractive to people who just want to play a first person shoot-em-up. But to play with other people, you'll all need to be playing the same game hosted on a server somewhere. May as well play the F2P one.

I don't know about running bots, but something like Action Replay codes would probably be used by baddies in online games. |

So I'm simply going to rephrase this as how will a compromised PS3 platform compromise the cross-over world game of DUST&EVE i.e. events in one gamer can influence the other.
So it is related to EVE Discussion.
Now I have provided you and everyone else with additional context you can move my thread back now.
Thanks. WARNING: The current poster is erratic, prone to error and generally blissfully unaware due to the taking of many hard drugs over the course of many years - most of them legal. |

Bring on the aimbots ! ehh still under contract Really, CCP should have just tapped crowd sourcing for Dust and put it on the PC to start. If this makes it easy for console gamerz to hackz, DUST is screwed. Also ...this could effect EVE since it's integrated. Having been playing shooters online since Dunk Nukem and Quake, once a hack gets in, it's really hard to respond to it in a timely fashion. Worst I've seen is BF2142 where we waited over a year for confirmed hack fixes, and while the leading anti-hack app could do nothing to resolve the problem, including server crash hacks |

PC based FPS games have had aimbots for a decade+ now
the bot program must be updated to keep pace with anti-cheat software, which takes anything from 4hrs to a 1 or 2 days
if they are running an old version (a lot do, coz they are stupid) they are gone, if they run the up-to-date version they are undetectable by the 'anti-cheat' software and it's down to individual admins to deal with them despite this limitation, and the hordes of botters, fps games on PC are incredibly popular
and the hordes of botters, isnt usually that many, you might see 1 occasionally every now and then, depending on just how popular and FotM your game is.
