No, not yet - the Vatican denied statements that he'd died. So, uh, reports of his death have been greatly exaggerated?

they take a silver hammer and strike his forehead four time with it and asks questions....
if he dosnt respond then hes dead... crude and medieval... just like the church...
Ps. im not joking... they really use a silver hammer

Also, there are never allowed any autopsies on the pope, no pictures can be taken of his dead corpse and usually nobody is even allowed to see the corpse (there are exceptions).
When the pope dies, the camerlengo (chamberlain) takes his 'throne' for the next 15 days, during this period every Catholic cardinal has to get their ass to Rome.
Not later than 20 days after the popes death, the cardinals, all 194 (give or take a few) are to enter the Sistine chapel. Together they have to elect the next pope. 120 of the cardinals are eligible to vote. Any baptised man can be elected pope.
Once the new pope has been elected, the eldest cardinal (also in charge of the voting) steps onto the center balcony of St. Peter's basilica an announces 'Habemus Papam' or 'We have a pope'. Apostle Peter's 262nd successor will then step forth and deliver his first apostolic blessing.

Rumour has it the next pope will actually be African. That would be huge, considering the church is what has formed white-man's society for almost 2000 years.

If im not mistaken theres also a prophecy\superstition that if the pope after JPII is african then there will be no more catholic church, cause they reckon he be the son of the devil or something. Kinda weird whoever comes up with these predictions. (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world domination.

I can confirm that. According to sources within the Vatican the cardinals all agree that Chris is the best candidate. Long live the new pope! -
