I think it would be really nice if you could open up your character model and change the pitch/yaw of the head, eye position, and lastly rotate the camera around the upper body slightly, just like when you make a brand new character. You can definitely depict yourself to emote mood and/or disposition with only those bodily gestures/positions. Maybe even change the lights, and/or background; but that would probably be abused somehow. Anyway, what do others think of this idea? I just think it adds some more role-play to the game, for anyone who still gives a crap about that kind of thing. |

yeah man I hear what your sayin but theres a reason why you cant,
Imagine 10,000 people doing it at the same time, it would just put more stress on the server.
worst case scenario is that it could be really exploitable in a large scale battle to create even more lag Wayz: cmon X hurry up I aint got all day! Twisted Xistance: oh yeah lol.... anyway, you have got all day you benefit scrounging jobbless schmoe! Wayz: too chey :) |

Eve is a server cluster. I can't see how this can be correct. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

1. Client sends request to change character portrait 2. Server receives requests, sends instruction to client 3. Client updates character model, sends changes back to server 4. Server receives changes, sends acceptance notification to client
All of that could be just a few bytes of data if the code were well written, or compressed even. Simple. |

This game needs way more roleplaying if they're going to call it an mmoRPG, but I'm not so sure that this is the way to implement it. ___________________________________________ ^^^***---All things serve the Beam---***^^^ |

You're right that this game needs way more role playing to call it an official MMORPG. However, to dismiss this idea because, obviously, this would not be the sole idea that fully implements a more role-play oriented gaming experience, is simply closed-minded.
I've been playing eve for only a little while now and I love it, and I think this idea is efficacious, unique, and fun! |
