hi, i have a Samsung RC730 laptop with a gt540m 1GB nvidia graphics card on. i'm just wondering when i log on, EVE doesnt recognise the gt540m nvidia card and only picks up on the intelHD card on the display options? i've tried forcing it on the nvidia control panel to select "high performance nvidia processor" but it still doesnt seem to register when i log in? any suggestions? |

This is due to the way the card is reported to the game on startup. Namely, the game will show that the Intel HD chipset is in use when it is actually the 540M powering the graphics at that point. You should notice the difference when actually forcing the Intel HD chipset and disabling the 540M altogether. GM Karidor | Senior Game Master |

2 things i'd try before googling "samsung choose GPU dual graphic cards", because i'm too lazy to do so.
Try selecting High performance on the battery and make sure this is your default setting and try rebooting.
Secondly check the system setting they might have a button or application that decides which is active. |

I googled it, without success. There were absolutely no info about dual graphics in this game, and how to setup only one card in options. High performance is selected, and its default setting. I did everything i could, belevie me. Im newbie, but im not a noob. |

I've borrowed a very similar laptop to this, and I didn't experience this issue.
- Set the system default GPU as the 540m - For insurance, set the EXEFILE (Eve executable) to also run with the 540m
From here, whatever your ingame window shows will not matter, it will render using the 540m.
Hint: you CANNOT launch the game using the Intel HD graphics, as it doesn't support the shader model. So if you're playing Eve, you're using the 540m. - "Do not touch anything unnecessarily. Beware of pretty girls in dance halls and parks who may be spies, as well as bicycles, revolvers, uniforms, arms, dead horses, and men lying on roads -- they are not there accidentally." -Soviet infantry manual, issued in the 1930's |
