Unless things are different in null. I must have missed something cause I don't remember a 30 sec untargetable time.. After undocking? I thought there was a 30 second delay after undocking if no action is taken during which you simply pass through other ships, and they can't target you back... And even if you do get targeted, unless you're undocking into a dozen 'Nado's in an untanked industrial, you should have enough time to hit that dock button.

By initiating warp, you're letting the client know that you're ready to go, and the immunity leaves you. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1879369#post1879369
I'd hope the ISD is right. |

Yeah, i'm not sure when this happened, but it's been a while since I was stuck dealing with station games. I remember undocking one time to find myself in another clone before I even loaded the exterior... |

Seriously, we are this hyper-advanced space society, and our stations don't even have windows or view screens to tell us what is just outside....
Bit odd, don't you think? "hmm i see a station camp outside.. think ill stay in here longer"
rofl, just undock and insta dock with virtually no risk.
same effect. |

Except the topic is immersion 'within' station.

it's immersion in station as well as immersion towards the size of the station |

cinematics for every ship for every type of station? o_O
only if i can opt out and choose not to install such a waste of time and space. i played freelancer, and it was nice the first couple of times. but eventually u'll be tearing ur hair out and thinking about all the things u could have done had u not spent so long stuck in cutscenes.
imagine seeing ur target undock from the guests list and having to ***** about getting back to ur ship and then having to run a cutscene where ur ship undocks (probably very slowly in a BC or larger). by the time ur out ur enemies will be long gone
personally ive turned off CQ and ship spinning so i can quickly dock-undock.
secondly, larger stations would mean logi are even better protected during station games because it would take even longer to go round the damn things.
i prefer my stations like tiny tardis', preferably with a docking range of 5m and a hyper ejection undock speed that launches u 20km and then says ur not allowed back in for 5 minutes because of 'traffic'. they'll also deny any ship that is getting shot or is shooting from docking for fear of 'damaging the station'.
while we're at it, can we have realistically voice acted 'docking assistants' that we can chat up and get dates with? then take her back to the captains quarters to show her my 'blaster cannon'? |

I get what you're saying on all but the logistics... When it comes to logistics, larger stations would actually make it harder for logistics to perform their job from the opposite side of the station, which is something I'm happy with. If they're going to be in the fight they should get in the fight... |

they dont have to be at the opposite side, just 70km away and right next to the station.
assuming stations aren't spherical (which they aren't) they can get themselves into nooks and crannies in the stations model that allows them to be 70km away as the crow flies, but to pursue them u'd have to navigate ur way past corners, exaust pipes, random spikes and other sticky out bits.
lets remember that some gallente stations can be flown through because of their design. |
