Soon, the game will have new skills: Racial Destroyers and Racial BCs. In this regard, I have a question. Will we get new ships: faction destroyers and faction battlecruisers? As it now is, with the other ship types.

I'd give it up to a year after they tiericide everything. After that, they'll likely have everything to a point where adding faction versions of these ships wouldn't throw things too out of whack, by adding a more powerful version of an improperly balanced ship in. |

heres a question, what happens to the people who have the raw battlecruiser skill at 5, will the game automatically assign them lvl 5 bc for each faction?
Hope its not going to sort of guess and assume what my lvls will be and end up gimping me down to below what i had already acquired while training for a higher ship |

Quote:Reimbursement details: Let us repeat again: if you could fly it before, you will be able to do so after the change. Technically it means if you are able to fly an Oracle by having Amarr Cruisers 3 and Battlecruisers 3, we will remove the Battlecruisers skill from your character and give you Amarr Battlecruisers at 3. If you had Battlecruisers at 3 and Caldari Cruisers 3 instead, you would not receive Amarr Battlecruisers but the Caldari Battlecruisers skill at 3 instead. The same principle work with the Destroyers skill. With the way nested skill requirements work in EVE, it also means that you will still be able to fly an Apocalypse even if you donGÇÖt have the Amarr Battlecruiser skill trained at 4 after the change. It wonGÇÖt matter as long as you have the Amarr Battleship skill at the proper level.
With this in mind, it becomes quite obvious to focus on training the Destroyers and Battlecruisers skills before the change to get the maximum return effect. We highly recommend you start doing so now. |

Then I can fly all the BC's and destroyers at maximum potential.... once I finally train up the weapon systems. |

This didn't answer OPs question. The dev blog states that amarr cruiser 3 and BC 3 will give you amarr BC. The OPs question is if he has amarr cruiser skills at 3 but BC at 5, will he get level 5 in amarr BC skills or level 3.
I'm curious about this too. On the off chance I'm already learning all the frigate skills up to 5 and then I'm going to get my last level in BC. but will I need to get all the cruiser skills to 5 too? |

It only makes sense to get BC 5 if you have amarr cruiser to 3 and BC to 5.
The other way around is just illogical. |

My real questions is do we really get all racials at the appropriate level or just 1? Skill point wise it should only be 1. If I had Caldari, Amarr, Galentee, Minmatar Frigate level 4 and destroyer level 4 should I really get the extra points to make racial destroyer in all 4, or should I get books for all 4 and the points for 1 racial to distribute as I see fit?
Example in point: I have a character with Minmatar frig lvl 3 and Caldari frig lvl 3. I want Minmatar Destroyer not caldari destroyer. I either better get both, or get both books and the points to choose. |

CCP are adamant that "If you can fly it now, you will stll be able to fly it." So in thatr espect, both skills should be in it. My question is that if I have all four of the racial cruiser skills to 3 and the BC skill at 5, do I get all the racial BC skills at 5 or would it be at a lower level? |

I think the only reason the DevBlog states Cruiser 3 in those examples is because cruiser 3 is the current prerequisite to fly a racial battlecruiser.
It would be wrong of them to take away from the effectiveness of your ships because you had a different, and irrelevant skill that wasn't trained up (it's only relevant up until you get skill level 3, at which point it can be completely forgotten). |

Considering the heavy use of destroyers within the faction warfare zone, I would definitely not be against the implementation of a navy version. With Battle Cruisers I hole the same stance. But they would have to be carefully worked on - As implementing ships like this could have a large change in the power dynamics of faction warfare in particular. |

The race of battlecruiser/destroyer will be determined by the racial cruiser/frigate skills you have. If you have a racial cruiser/frigate to at least III, you will get that race's battlecruiser/destroyer skill.
The level of battlecruiser/destroyer racial skill that you get will be determined by the level of the nonracial battlecruiser/destroyer skill that you had pre-patch.
This is how they fulfill the "if you could fly it before, you will be able to fly it just as well after the patch":
You can sit in a T1 destroyer if you have the racial frigate at least to III and the Destroyers skill at least to I. The T1 destroyer's ship bonuses are dependent on the Destroyers skill alone. Thus, by gaining the racial destroyer skill to the same level you had Destroyers, the ship bonuses that you receive are unchanged.
You can sit in a T2 destroyer if you have the racial frigate to V and the Destroyers skill to V (and the T2 skills and all their prereqs, but those aren't part of this skill change). As you have the racial frigate at least to III and the Destroyers skill to V, you will get the racial destroyer skill to V. The T2 ship bonuses come from the Destroyers skill and the Interdictors skill (since there's only one type of T2 destroyer right now). Thus, the ship bonuses that you receive from the Destroyers skill will be unchanged.
The same thing applies for battlecruisers, only with "cruiser" and "battlecruiser" swapped in for "frigate" and "destroyers".
edit: Oh, and on topic: faction battlecruisers would be excellent. |
