I'd quite like to be able to CONTUNE tracking a particular target, but still select other things in the overview. For example, a celestial in order to align, or a FW plex button in order to update my orbit range.
Is this something that could be implemented? |

Yes, just disable the "Point camera to selected item" in the menu, and use "B" + click to track item. Senior Programmer - Team Pony Express EVE Online, CCP Games |

Salpun wrote:The camera rotates around a north south line. With the new follow camera coming out of a south facing station and switching to followcamera mode results in not being able to position an above ship view with out hiting this camera movement wall. Any way to remove that movement wall? I was wondering about this as well. Sometimes I'll want to track an object that is above or below my ship and the camera ends up in an odd or unsatisfactory position due to the movement restrictions on the camera system.
I was also wondering if the 'hold right-click to look around' function would still be feasible while tracking an object? Right now, attempting to look around while the camera is tracking an object results in no 'look around' functionality, because it seems like the tracking function is already using the right-click camera options. |

I'm pretty sure that's just the Advanced Camera selection. It's been available in EVE for as long as I can remember. Used to enable it through the Escape menu iirc
edit: I see from the Dev responses that this is new. Still, it looks a lot like the old adv. camera options.
edit2: Just checked the Adv. Cam. Looks to be far inferior to this too. Been awhile since I used it. zubzubzubzubzubzubzubzub |

The tracking camera is not the same as the "advanced camera" but it uses the same underlying trinity camera, the main goal of the tracking camera is to keep both the target and the player ship in the frame to improve "situational awareness". It automatically positions the camera on orbit and fine tunes the view using the "right click" panning. Senior Programmer - Team Pony Express EVE Online, CCP Games |

Noticed new camera function on the new patch: distance saved when docking. Go team. Will it save camera angle in a later patch?
Can reset camera also have the same fuctionality it zooms the camera back close to your ship when you just want to refocus the camera back on your ship.
Nice camera angle lock. works well. The new focus box seems to be broke however it only places the selected targer in there right after reseting the box.
Camera really needs its own tab in the esc menu |

Yes, I could see that once I compared the advanced camera with the camera I saw in the video. It's looking very good. zubzubzubzubzubzubzubzub |

Good job on the include the players ship as being a point of interest. In that mode or any mode having a bracket for your ship should be good to have so you can set up far out zoom shots. |

The tracking camera is perfect now, except for one minor issue.
Basically if you have a celestial object and the camera is tracking it, initiating warp will cancel the camera tracking. So if you want to see the cool effect as the camera swings around when you warp, you have to select the celestial object again... making it tedious.
I don't see why initiating warp would cancel camera tracking, so is it a bug? |

Would be really nice if you would NOT make this extremely annoying and unuseful camera change default. Don't know how many people who are praising this change actually PvP, as keeping track of your range on everyone on grid and the relation of everyone on grid to each other is nearly imposable with this change. |

press C key, and its turned off...
this does nothing to the existing functionality of the overview... so you should be able to keep track of range just as well as you did before the changes. CCP Sisyphus | Team PE |@CCP_Sisyphus |
