I get a sizeable amount of money from my friend who lured me into playing eve online. I'm going to buy few months of game time, but the rest i would like to invest. My friend had no idea how i should spend my money, so i would like to ask the forum readers for advice. Could someone point me to the right direction? |

I think i pass, was looking more into trading. My friend tells me that your corporation has a bad reputation, so that would be another reason to pass., nothing personal. |

You could give it to me... but on a more serious note, buy up a butt load of mining frigates. With the winter expansion they will be turned into ewar boats and be in much higher demand...at least immediately following the expansion while every one and their brother scoops one up to see what they are capable of. That should turn you a nice lil' profit...then give THAT to me

Depending on the amount ('sizeable' is relative) I would advise you to not invest all off it in your first days in EvE.
That being said, take a look on the Market discussion subsection of our forum. A lot of EvE's investors and market speculators frequent that forum, so you might find something worthy of investing in. But be aware that trust is a scarce commodity in EvE, so choose wisely were and when to invest your Isk.
I would also like to point you at Isk - the Guide, a free download containing a lot of knowledge about making Isk in EvE in a myriad of ways.
In the end, knowledge is the key to making money.
Good luck in your endeavours! ISD Ezwal Ensign Community Communication Liaisons (CCLs) Interstellar Services Department |

First off I would agree with ISD ezwal the term sizeable is relative. Though as you are a new player I would suggest that prior to seeking investment opportunities which in this game a significant number of them are scams that you first figure out what you want to do in this game. If as you said are interested in playing the market get some trade skills up to save money, or if you wish to pvp/pve invest in ships. Asking what to do is far to general if you are unsure asto a direction. Also in the future it is a good idea not to advertise your wealth, as it can paint a target on your back. Ask I'm interested in investing in x, or what do you think of doing/trading in object y.

Oooh, if only I could look into the future and tell you what sells for a lot of profit in say 4 months....If I would be able to do that, I wouldn't even share it with you tbh.
aka, asking people what to trade is lame and lazy.
Likely you won't get a response as:
* They will be letting you compete with their own profit * They just think you are lazy, do the research like they did. A good trader KNOWS his markets, not get the information from others. Go to the Markets forum. Watch out for what the hardcore denizens of that forum are willing to invest in. Stuff that's audited, stuff secured with locked-down Blueprint Originals (BPO) and so forth. Then invest in the same things they invest in. Otherwise you'll probably end up investing in a scam or a ponzi scheme.
Also, out of curiosity, how many ISK do you have to invest? Many of the larger players won't take on small investors.

^Sounds totally legit.
As for OP, like said. We can't answer that question cause it's too general.
EVE is a sandbox where YOU can do what YOU want, so others can't tell you what to do (well they can, but you should not listen as it's YOUR game and YOUR money)
See what I mean.
EDIT:
Also, by looking at your other thread: EVE also requires a bit of research from your own side. EVE isn't hand held and most information is easily obtained by google/forum search or in game by right clicking and do a show info. Those things will help a lot if you master them or just do it when not sure about things (damn, the amount of times I have to go to google to check how things worked again is still countless even after 2 years).
