So i am a New Player with about 2.5 mill SP. I just traind into a Battle Cruiser and i am waiting for my skills as always. I am bored doing lvl3 missions. I can not go to Incursions, do wormholes or decent explorations since i can not fly a decent ship for that. So i fitet up a Frigate and roam around low sec looking for trouble but i cant find anybody or i get 1 shot killed. While i keep practicing that solo PvP and am always on the wait for a corp fleet to tag along. I am wondering what can i do else till i skill up? Now ! I know there are plenty of things i COULD do i want to know what did you all do at this point ?
Oh in case you are wondering i got a alt that mines and refines for My combat alt :) |

Me? Well on my main I did security missions to raise standings when I was below 10mil SP. That and ran radar sites and such. I still run radar sites and other things, but not so much security any longer. This character, still training, about the same SP as yours. There is an epic arc with sisters of eve, a little more interesting than repeating missions. Otherwise you are at a good point to join faction wars. That's what this char is being trained for. Though if you did, I'd suggest less than a BC, like a destroyer or frig with some skill into one or both. You should find more action there compared to wandering lowsec. If you are trying to pursue solo pvp, that's not really a strong point in EVE. |

Always glad to see new pilots in New Eden! Welcome.
Although you have chosen not to do wormholes or incursions, you shouldn't make the assumption that you are unable to do so. A 14 day old character with the correct skill set could be a worthy asset for incursion fleets, as a so called "drone bunny" and fast point ( point made in http://youtu.be/ABzMQKJZIu0 ), and yes, you would likely die in a wormhole, but that will go for a vast majority of the capsuleers in New Eden. After all, great rewards come with a great risk.
I can completely relate to the bore that running missions alone can be, and I have since quit all such activity. Find yourself a group of people to play with, form bonds [of trust] and have an adventure. My personal choice a while back was piracy, and yes... I sucked at it.. At the beginning. Alternately you could investigate what EVE University, or similar establishments, may have to offer you skill wise, or even just to form the before mentioned bonds.

I grinded lvl3 missions pretty hard back in the days, but since you know the wide spectrum of EvE, you are in a very comfortable position.
If I was a new player, I probably would pass my time to get knowledge about EvE. Maybe I'd join EVE Uni or something and go deeper into the lectures about 1) How to make money fast (i.e. station trading) and 2) How to get into PvP with a Rifter or something.
I pretty much like your engagement just to hop into a ship and go into lowsec, that IS frustrating but this experience is pretty much the most important thing in your entire EvE carreer imho.
Invest as fast as you can some Million ISK into +5 learning implants and jump into that clone whenever you can (days when you cannot play etc).

Get into pvp now, or regret it later. But since you're so new, don't bother doing it solo; you're practically useless, but will still be welcome in pvp corporations as long as you have a positive attitude. Don't get suckered into the bear corporations who put "pvp" into their ads, but then just grind roids and missions, and disband at the first wardec they get.
Alternatively, play another game. Yes, this is a serious answer. There really isn't a whole lot to "do" in EVE, unless something is happening, or you need to grind for ISK. Though in your first few months, the awe factor should be strong enough to keep you entertained. I'm not entirely sure why you're bored at 2.5m sp. (USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST) |

Well you have discovered the one thing that 99% of people will try to hide from you, EVE is actually quite a boring game. Must admit it took me about a year to figure this out but the one thing that EVE excels at is the social function/area.
You try to play EVE solo it will just grind you down, to truly enjoy EVE you need to immerse yourself in the vast social aspect of it. Myself I hardly log in any more , well thats actually a falsehood I do login but I'm rarely doing anything, I use it more for if people what to message me have a chat e.g the social aspect of it.
I think I actually more time looking and posting on the forum (yes, very sad I know) than I do actually playing EVE.
You have to have a particular mindset to enjoy EVE, I still enjoy it and will eventually come back to some sort of active status, hopefully sooner rather than later.
If you are bored try something else, a good corp/alliance will stop you from getting bored, if you are in a bad corp then you are not going to enjoy EVE at all.
Everyone gets burned out playing EVE eventually and take a break but it's an addiction sometimes, you leave it and you always get the nagging voice in the back of your head telling you to come back. God Said "Come Forth and receive eternal life!"-á I came second and won a toaster. |

Educate yourself on how to find and select the proper targets. Learn to master the d-scanner. Pick a lowsec system and setup tactical bookmarks for it. I recommend a "pipe" system that only has two exits. You might be in the wrong location too. Where I hang out (Metropolis) there are lots of NPC corp newbies who want to try pvp. 90% of these targets are T1 fitted Rifters, the kind of targets you should get at least a good solo fight from at your SP level.
In my experience most people in lowsec will honour arranged 1vs1 fights. Chances are high they were looking for a good fight themselves anyway, and have trouble finding it too. be a little extravert, talk to people, and find out who wants to roam with you. Also, if you want to pvp, why are you looking for a fleet? Why aren't you starting one your fellow corpies can join?
Don't be scared to FC your own fleet, even if you are inexperienced. Especially if you are inexperienced! No-one ever got better at Eve by staying docked, counting ISK, or playing different games while their SP grows. Pro-activity goes a long way, and that goes for you as an individual as well as your corp. |

Just to make something clear, i am in a good corp, i enjoy the company of my Mates very much and they are a very active bunch, i just am a little low on SP to do everything they do. I can tag along PvP Fleets but I need a little training until i can tag along the aliance fleets. The reason i Play eve is the very fact that it is a game where to get the most of it you have to socialise and play with others. My goal is corp pvp game play huge wars fleets politics and what not. I hate Mmos that you just solo and have a comon chat channel. Eve clearly Is the right game for me. I am was talking about the hours till i get that next ship that will let me Play even more with corp.
Problem timezone i get 2hours alone bedor corp logs in. But if I train for a month or so i can get to the main corp Wich will bring me to the alliance wich is always online with players. So no need to change corps and i dont want to neither.
But till then i gues i will hunt for ISK. ISK= Power Power=Fun |

Actually I find the opposite to be true, you really don't need much isk to have fun.
I tend to fly around now more in frigates and cruisers than anything else, cheap to replace easy to skill for and much more fun than pressing F1 whilst waiting for the lagxxx sorry TIDI to kick in.

Leandros, let me first say that in no way I was implying anything about your corp or it's activity itself. If I came across like that, my apologies! I mainly wanted to illustrate pro-activity (which is something else then simply activity) goes a long way in creating content. The issue at hand isn't your SP or choice of corp. I sense you simply lack some direction on what to do with your time, else you wouldn't have asked your original question in the first place.
I get that you want to increase your skills before you bother with Alliance fleets, I kinda meant that there are probably more people like you in your corp (or other corps in the same Alliance). It lies within your power to organize roams with these guys, and to create suitable content for your SP level instead of waiting for it to present itself.
Players that are pro-active, and organise group activities themselves, have more fun and are usually greatly valued as content creators. I loathe the idea a character has to wait untill it's at a certain SP level in order to be usefull. It's simply not the case, as SP simply isn't a factor in the ability to organize and entertain.
TL;DR You asked "what did you do at this point". My answer would be "I organized fun stuff" |

If you live in low or null-sec, you are right, but all you need for hi-sec exploration is a cruiser. Some hi-sec sites allow battlecruisers to warp but most don't, still all sites are doable with in a cruiser with relevant skills at level 4. LIke you, i have 2.5 mill SP (more or less) and yes you can run C1 combat sites with a BC solo. I use my Drake. C1 rats don't tackle so if things get bad you always can warp out.
I'm living in a w-hole system with my corp, but if they are off line or doing another thing, i look for another w-hole and run 1 combat site or 2 by my self. It is dangerous for a newbie like me but i find it exciting and profitable.
Yesterday i got caught in a trap in another system but i managed to scape because they were off line. Scary and funny moments. I know i have many things to learn but i'm having tons of fun in the process.
If you decide to explore w-holes get Astronometrics to IV and the rest of the scanning skills to III. It will help you a lot because you can find sites or w-holes in seconds when you get used to do it.

There is no point in skill point training where you magically become "useful" in PVP. From day 1, you should be able to fit up a warp disruptor, or act as a scout.
Find a new player friendly PVP corp... there are lots of them out there, and go PVP.
Waiting until you get to some magical skill points is a waste of play time. |

NOONE JETCAN MINES True. Because of the can flippers. Proof that if you make a game mechanic that is easy to use to mess with people, people won't do the activity that makes them easy victims, because, in general, they do not enjoy being messed with. Take notice all you "get rid of local" and "move L4s to low sec" people.
Besides, anyone that wants to mine can find a player run corp with an orca. You not only keep your ore safe, you get a huge boost in yield and profitability.
THERE ARE SO FEW NEW PLAYERS AND SO MANY ALTS Yep. I tried to create a new player training corp, and I found that about 90% of the "new players" are actually alts.
*]RISK-AVERSE MENTALITY HAS INCREASED TENFOLD PEOPLE HAVE SO MUCH ISK THAT LOSSES DONT EVEN HURT The product of kill board stats. It isn't that I don't want to lose a few million ISK for getting a ship blown up. It is that I do not want to show up on the kill boards as a victim. If that happens too often, then people start coming looking for you, and your corp, to war dec you in hopes of getting some easy kill themselves.
The kill boards drive PVPers to look for victims, but it also leads non-PVPers to avoid PVP all together for fear of being a kill board victim.

Try highsec exploration! It is time consuming and can lead to great rewards! Also, it teaches you skills that are required of you later on when you have more sp. A battle cruiser would be fine if you have the skills to scan, which shouldnt take long. |
