I did some exploring last night and found my first BPC in a 0.6 system.
That got me thinking, do complexes that have been scanned down, move after downtime?
Also, would I get the same BPC from the same or similar site in that 0.6 system?
I also found a Serpentis complex that had numerous rooms to it, full of wrecks, and I wondered: do complexes respawn their contents after a period of time or after downtime?
Please take note, that the Serpentis complex was found with the Core Scanner Probe 1 and not the D-Scan.

No, scanned complexes respawn continuously during the day, in a random* system. You don't have to worry about logging on just after downtime to find sites to run :)
* There is a chance that site could respawn in the same system you just finished it in, but it's the same as the chance it could spawn in any of the other solar systems in the eligible regions. |

Thanks for the info St Mio.
As for my question, about the sites having the same item(s), from a similar site in the same system is a bit redundant, as CCP would want to have as much randomness as possible in the PVE part of the game.

The rewards will be taken from the same loot table, but those can vary hugely. |

I've seen some plexes respawn at the exact same location after downtime but this might have been fixed by now.. |

It happens only if complex is "untouched". |

Actually, it will respawn in the same location as long as the complex isn't completed (Overseer destroyed). And I believe it will only stay there for a couple of days, then it will spawn somewhere else. |

So as I understand it, plexes will remain in the same system until someone interacts them, either to complete them or to farm them.
If I were to bookmark a location such as a Magnetometric site, would it remain in the same location, if I were to leave the system and then return?
I've noticed that if I don't I have to scan down the sites again.
Also has anyone found a stable wormhole before?
I'm pretty sure I found one when I first started scanning down sites.
Thanks again for the info you've all provided.
Good Hunting.

Cosmic signatures will stay in the same place (regardless of downtime) until either: a) Someone completes them b) They naturally expire (measured in days)
After either a) or b), they'll (assumingly) choose a random solar system to respawn in.
You can scan down a site, warp to it, look around, bookmark it, fly away, come back in a new ship, and as long as no other player has arrived while you were gone (or it naturally expired), it will still be there.
An exception is Radar and Magnetometric sites: they will despawn if you tamper with a can and leave. If you just look around they'll be fine, but if you try to use a Codebreaker or Analyzer module, and then warp out, they will despawn. |

Just wanted to add this to what St Mio posted - you can also kill the NPC's at those sites, warp out, return and the site will still be there, as long as the cans are left alone.
Of course there's also a chance of more NPC's spawning when you try to open the cans so it's a good idea to either have a ship able to take out the NPC's or have fleet mates available to help.
A long time ago I used a Cheetah for exploration and would have to ask corp chat for help at various times. I usually had a few different sites bookmarked before asking for help along with some anomalies for them to run while I scanned down new signatures in nearby systems.
Of course now anyone can find anomalies.
Also gratz on finding your first BPC, may you find more of them.

DMC - thanks for the congrats and the extra info...
I warped through an unstable wormhole the other day, fortunately it didn't collapse behind me, and there I found Sleeper drones.
As I was in an Incursus, fitted for Exploration and not Combat, I ran!
The Sleeper drones, and a Sleeper Battleship were guarding an Enclave, are they hackable or ?????

I haven't done much W-hole exploration. I feel that W-space was intended for fleet action even though class 1 and 2 can be done solo by experienced players. If you can remember the name of the site, best to look it up in Evelopedia or goggle it for info.
There's a few sites that give info on the amount of time left in w-holes before they close based on the description of the info text. I try to minimize the amount of info sites open at one time in the browser and I'm partial to Evelopedia. The Evelopedia was created by CCP for us Eve Community Members to use, update and or add info whenever needed.
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Wormholes
I usually bypass w-holes and Grav sites. Years ago I used to bookmark Grav sites for a Orca / Hulk team. They would donate between 8 to 12 mill to me each week for the bookmarks. I'd fleet up with them and when they had a few NPC wrecks floating around, I'd swing by, salvage / loot the wrecks and drop off more bookmarks. It was fun, chatting and giving each other updates. Even though we were doing different things in different areas, we were still sorta working together, if you know what I mean. Sometimes I would find a Grav site that only had a couple of rocks left and the Orca / Hulk team would come over and quickly knock it out, thus allowing a new site to spawn somewhere. (Some players think Grav sites will respawn like asteroid belts. They don't.)
I mainly search Empire space for all the other sites. When I find them, I check Evelopedia for info on the sites and if the page is lacking info or has no info at all, I'll take notes while running the site and edit or create the page afterwards. That's something everyone can do.
Anyway, I'm a firm believer that Information is King and Conversation is it's Queen.
Or I should say - Documentation is it's Queen.

Thanks for the link DMC.
I won't be doing any more wormhole exploration for a while.
Last night I decided to explore a J system to see what was there.
I found another unstable wormhole, which could have led to another J system or to somewhere else, two Ladar Sites but I don't have the gas harvester drone, so I couldn't get the stuff.
As I was scanning down the second Ladar site, two Explorers arrived through the same wormhole as I had, a Tengu and a Loki.
The Loki destroyed me and then he even podded me, which was good as it sent me home so I could get another ship.
I've been training up my Cloaking skill, so I can use the improved cloak on my Vexor, and then I can do wormhole exploration.
DMC, how do I sell a bookmark, for say a Grav site? Only 40 rounds per gun... I hate reloading in the middle!

No one will ever buy a grav site. If you wanna sell a bookmark, there are usually corp/allliance channels made for that or try it in the exploration channel, ppl may want to buy it (just tell them the constellation, though, or they will just come and scan it themselves). |

Yeah, what he said.
With the Gankahulk contests becoming a regular occurrence along with all of the high sec suicide ganking, that Orca / Hulk team I was supplying bookmarks to gradually stopped mining.
Also like I said, they would donate ISK to me once a week while I'd give them about 1/2 a dozen bookmarks every couple of days. I wasn't selling a bookmark to each Grav site.
Anyway, exploration has become fairly easy now for everyone and due to all the Gankathon contests and high sec suicide attacks, trust is now very tough to gain.
As for going into w-holes, best to have cloak action as well as fleet mates, not to mention safe spots.
Whenever I went into a w-hole, I'd bookmark the exit and then cloak / warp to different areas, checking Dscan for towers, if I saw some on scan, I'd leave the system. If I didn't find any, I'd launch a DSP or Combat probes to make sure the w-system was really an empty virgin system.
Needless to say finding a virgin system was far and few between. However, I did also find some vacant used ones with some abandoned ships.
Good luck to you in doing exploration, I've found now the best areas are systems that are way off the beaten track. Getting there is actually the hard part.
