My problem is: I dont know how to do Blood Raider plexes anymore since the npc-ai-changes. Before the changes i used a ratlesnake and a tempest fleed issue. Rattle as tank with extreme passive shield recharge and the tempest as damage dealer. That worked very nice. I did every site very fast - except the sites with citadel-em-torps.
Now i cant do that anymore because: - Big NPCs will target my tempest instead of my rattlesnake-tank, because the tempest does more damage => Tempest dies. - Small NPCs will kill my drones and makes it impossible for me to kill the frigs.
I know the "workaround" for the drones problem, but how to keep my tempest alive?
All that wouldn't be a problem for other npc types. There are ways to adapt to them. I could switch to non-drone-boats like tengu - BUT NOT FOR BLOOD RAIDERS (wrong damage type). I could switch to a spider-tank-setup - BUT NOT FOR BLOOD RAIDERS (energy neuts).
So how do i do blood raider plexes now?

make your tempest magically a vargur with x type tank - BAMMM- its done and you only needed to train 3 months and invest 2 billion isk in that ship. Thats beacause CCP wanted to give players more "option" with this patch. Seems legit. |

Even if i have to pay 2 billions - i would do that if that helps. But how can the vargur rep itself if it has no energy (blood raiders have heavy neuts)? |

The repper would be neuted and then he cant rep anymore.
That might not be true for real logistic-ships (they have bonus on rep and energy transfer and can keep range) but my tests with two RR-Domis were negative. The problem is: If i use a Gun-Boat, i dont have enough free high-slots for 2-3 energy transfers. If i use a drone-boat i dont have the right resis against blood raiders and in addition i have a hard time keeping my drones alive. |

Anybody tried a target painter? Will this keep aggro on my tank-ship? Or will npc's still switch to my damage-ship?
Thats, what i am gonna try: Target painter, a fake-remote-rep and a single energy transfer on my tank-ship in hope this makes enough "aggro". |

we do c5 WH farm for a living, and using a loki to web the sleepers whos AI the rats got. My experience that they love to shoot the loki more then everything else, but it will not save the other ships from it. That means you will get better agro with an EWAR module active on the rats, but that doesnt solve the problem. |

The sad thing is CCP claimed they want players to fly more variety of ships, but their NPC AI changes will do the exact opposite. Drone boat flyers are switching to non-drone ships in droves, and if that's what CCP intended, then it's a job well-done. |

I haven't had as many issues with the new AI except for full room aggro yet but I know what you are getting at.
The problem is, the new / Sleeper AI is taking more of a regular MMO type approach where the tank has to work to keep aggro over the damage dealers. That in itself is a proven concept but what CCP failed to see apparently is that there's no specialized skills/moduls or other semi-reliable ways of controlling aggro in EVE.
Bottom line: random aggro is a good thing as long as there's ways for the players to get a be able to get a grip on a situation with ingame (as in trainable) and piloting skill. If that's simply not there you may as well play a few rounds on the slot machine at your favorite online gambling website. Same principle.
After all the Sleeper sites were designed from ground up to offer some balance between the two, the K-Space plexes were not.
Bringing in one thing without the other is annoying at best. |

Good points, 82. One additional thing to keep in mind is most vet Level 4 mission runners are solo pilots and it's a major change to gameplay for CCP to make people team up to do L4 missions. |
