Boah, I just nearly went insane.
I just began hearing a very high pitched noise which i am extremely allergic to and i don't even know if you all can hear it (i can even hear the traps on cars you have against marten...)
it's also a sound old power supplys would have or ones that were about to fail... so i naturally searched there first for the sound... second was my boxes where i noticed that the sound was coming from them. first i thought they were defective then i noticed that the sound went off when moving my shuttle...
and while you are at it i would have some more ideas for you. as minmatar ships are rusty (so they say), why don't you implement a standby sound like forks scratching in a plate or fingernails on a blackboard... |

I hear it too. It's probably about a 16-17 KHz tone. It started on 2012-12-04 and is bloody unbearable. |

same issue with the Caldari Shuttle, I think zooming way out lessened it, but it's unbearable. |

Hmm. I thought it was when i was in a POS shield, but maybe it is the shuttle. Apparently some people can hear it and other's can't. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

I get it with both amarr and gallente shuttles too.
Painful the first couple of times when I didn't expect it. |

with the prevalence of high volume headsets and headphones, it's not surprising at all that most people cannot hear anything above 15k hz. |

Yep, it's been like this since the retribution patch. I have filed a bug report, I suggest you do the same. I already made a coupla threads on this, but they solved nothing. I don't see making multiple bug reports making a difference either. But if multiple people submitted bug reports in game, then they might give the issue more attention. It certainly needs attention. You don't scare me. I've been to Jita. |

I don't know who would possibly think implementing this was a good idea. The sound hurts my brain! Give drones some love: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2176396&#post2176396 |

I logged on today for the first time in almost a month. I heard that noise, and though it was something to do with the gates while I was traveling. It stopped when I zoomed out away from my ship. It's definitely the shuttles, and it's extremely annoying.
I hope they patch this soon. |

yeah, its somewhere in the 12-15khz neighborhood , just tested with a brand new amarr shuttle (I can hear 15,750 hz from a TV set flyback transformer outside the building)
doesn't seem related to the engines as it does not change with the speed and you still hear it at a dead stop an ambient sound connected to the shuttle hull? "You were the chosen one Anakin, you were supposed to bring order to the galaxy, not destroy it!" -Obi Wan (Ben) Kenobi -á |

Hearing loss happens to everyone, you wont hear the highest pitched noises far younger than you'd think. If you're older than 16-18 you've already lost the very highest.
That said I'm in my twenties and this sound is obnoxious. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |
