As above just recently we have moved to a huge open plan apartment in the south east of the uk, we have all this space however there was no suitable fixed location to plant my hand built desktop, it is housed in a huge haf-x case, the wife put her foot down and would not have it spoil the apperance of our space, so as a compromise i said ok i will get rid of that and replace it with a laptop, little did she know i had a nice alienware machine all lined up....-ú1608 later here i am now at the moment i kind of struggle to read the small print on my 1920x1080 screen so i have purchased myself a 5mt hdmi cable fingers crossed its here tomorrow, i have 1 already but its only 1mt long however i have tested Eve and it looks amazin on a 46" hdtv. so onto my question is eve playable via a laptop keyboard and mouse or will i find myself needing an external keyboard.
thanks |

A laptop keyboard shouldn't cause an issue flying your ship. In combat my hands rarely leave 'wasd' and you don't need any button combinations really. Chatting is more vigorous on the keyboard than piloting. In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has angered numerous people for many different reasons and is widely considered as a 'bad move'. |

Exclusive Laptop player. Even dual boxing on it (without CQ that is, with CQ my laptop becomes hotter then Tsjernobyl and Fukushima together)
But never had troubles when FIS with both clients etc.
On keyboard 'problem' besides the hotkeys (F1 / F8) and some other general stuff I don't use my keyboard much besides the chatting.
During PvP all is done through voice comms so even less stressing at that moments.

depending on how much heat your uber laptop creates you might need external cooling, which is relatively cheap. I payed 30 bucks for a targus and now my lap top is elevated on my desk and I have no cooling issues. |

I played for almost 2 years on a laptop and never felt the need for an external keyboard. You might want a second monitor at some point though; I know I did.

I'm playing on my laptop about 80% of the time, at the time being. No problems so far, unless I forget to plug my external cooler-stand into one of my USB-slots. Runs CQ smoothly, runs combat smoothly, runs anything I want smoothly (I haven't seen how well it would handle meeting a large 100-man fleet, though...) and it only crashes when I don't have the cooler-stand plugged in.
Generally, yes, you can play EVE on a laptop. |

I do have a gaming laptop which is either down stairs in lounge or in dinning room. so i can be online all the time, if she dont like it, tough we both pay the bills so fares is fare
