For the past few weeks, I have been doing nothing but mining Scordite asteroids and stocking them up, preparing to sell them on the bigger marketplace. The problem, is that Scordite only takes you so far in the vastness of EVE. So I decided to make a little poke into N-RAEL, a Null-Sec system. In my poke, I got webbed, Scrambled, and Blown up - not ship wise but also podded.
How does one even get into a Null-Sec system without getting their ass handed to them as a miner? Just looking for some advice in the matter so hopefully I can start looking for Ochre, Arkonor, and other such asteroids so I can refine those into the precious minerals sometime in the future.

Easier said then done - it seems that all the Null/Low-Sec systems around Eriendur is led by Lockstep, who don't even speak English.
I wasn't even given an option really either.
My Corp doesn't seem to operate in Low/Null-Sec, so I asking them is kind of like pulling teeth. lol |

first off, just barreling into a 0.0 system without scouting it first is near suicide on many of the border null systems. I would maybe look at low sec as a jumping off point for further endeavors.
as a side question, what ship are you mining in? |

As I see it you have three options.
1. Stay in hi-sec. This may be boring but at least concord will somewhat discourage people from attacking you most of the time.
2. Move to an area of space where the pirates speak the same language you do and pay them to leave you alone. However there may be more pirates than you can afford to pay off and they may kill you anyway even if you do pay them.
3. Find a different corp that has the setup needed to live in low/null. Things like pvp corp mates, intel channels, and diplomatic relations with the other residents in an area can make a huge difference. |

Eve, especially sov null, is filled with middle aged men dwelling in their mothers' basements looking to compensate through their 1337 skillz in internet spaceships. They will blow up your ship and pod for lulz so that they may feel important. Don't bother. Standings Improvement Service https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19454 |

The Venture is a decent Ninja-miner.
So much so that it is being used as a bait ship. |

Confirming that going after a couple mil ship with 2 warp core strength built in and a utility high slot for a cloak is often silly, and it screams bait. |

No. 1 - don't go through N-RAEL, thats a bad place to start. Pretty much all of the null sec entry points are gate camped like crazy (not always, but more likely yes than no) which is one of the bigger problems of null sec, but thats another topic.
If your looking to ninja mine some higher end ores I would suggest exploration in low sec systems to find grav sites that have those types of ores. |

If you want to mine in null you need to get into a null sec alliance, and mine in the grav sites in their industrial upgraded systems. Ninja mining in null will never get you enough ore to make more profit then mining in high sec, plus you will get pawned very often.
NPC null is not a safe place for miners, although many of these systems are loosely controlled by null sec corps and alliances, there are far from secure, and very few of those alliances are willing to set you to blue to mine in there systems. These corps alliances are almost always PVP focused with little to no interest in industrial activity.
However all large SOV holding alliances have at least some indy activity if not a full branch. Solar for example has set up a separate alliance for their indy activities called solar citizens. Even GOONSWARM has indy activity in their systems, although much of it is renters.
Mining in Grav sites in an upgraded industrial Sov system deep inside controlled territory can actually be safer than mining in high sec. Plus you have access to A,B,C,'s. But mining in Null sec you do not control is suicide.
if you decide you do want to ninja mine, a Venture is cheap, and with max skills(including drone skills) and a full flight of mining drone II's you can pull in up to 980m3 per minute. Plus your ship is small and fast with a +2 warp strength to GTF out if a hostile does show up. base out of a station inside though, as moving back and fourth though a high/low gate will get you killed. Once inside low or null, as long as you stay off the pipes, you should be fine.
If you do not know what the pipes are you are not ready. |

PROFIT
as for the people that will blow you up in nullsec, the amount of isk they would need to NOT blow you up is many times more valuable than your ship and all the ore you could mine. You either need to learn how to not get caught, or join them, and still need to learn how to not caught. Fighting is Magic |

1. get a jump clone in high sec.
2. have your corp make friends with an alliance who has operations in null sec / low sec
3. Have your corp rent an office in desired null/low sec space
4. set your clone to the new null sec/low sec office location keeping your jump clone in high sec
5. try flying to null sec. If you make it congrats. If you don't, your clone is in null sec office anyways, congrats!
6. buy new ships/gear and store in null sec office
7. Start mining! I go well with Quafe... |

You can mine hi end ore in WH's but you have to learn, live, and love your "D" scan, it's your only friend in a WH you go to ninja mine in, the sleepers aren't the only hostile in WH, but I suspect it's less busier then NULL esp getting in and out.
Don't forget to bring a probe launcher lest ye get stuck in eve's hole. |
