Hi,
My main will shortly be able to fly a Maelstrom (which is to say he can fly it right now minus guns...), and I'm looking for fitting advice. I will be using my Mael for three things:
- L4 missions - Incursions - Level 3 wormhole sites
Of course the problem there is that those three things require completely different fits; level 4s require a local tank and long-range weapons, incursions require shorter-range, a bigger buffer and NO local tank, and wormhole sites will need a local tank, and mad resists. I'm looking for a fit that can handle at least 2 out of 3 of the above situations without having to re-do too much. Changing a few modules about isn't an issue, but changing rigs will obviously get expensive.
I can use T2 extenders, hardeners and boosters, but not boost amplifiers, and I can't use T2 guns either. Obviously i'll be working on these next, but that might take a while...
Suggestions? |

take a look at the Maelstrom incursion fit from Eve Uni. Then look at the missioning fit.

Go with the incursion Rig fit. It'll compromise your active tank a little, but it'll manage at least some of them without much trouble. |

Good fits, but i'd be concerned about running the MWD from the PVE fit without the capacitor rigs to go with it, do you think that would be a problem? Should I throw a cap booster in there in place of the recharger? |

It's an AB not a MWD and the fit works, but I prefer cap boosters for the Mael:

Incursion fits are too different from active tanked fits. Your best bet for 2 of the 3 situations would be WH and missions. Rigs are the only thing that's permanent, so use some kind of cap rigs (safeguards with a cap booster or CCCs without cap boosters). Then you can tweak the fit for the job. |

Capbooster would certainly help with longevity in missions.
Faction or deadspace shield booster would also help. If you can fit a tech 2 shield boost amp, it'll help too. |
