Hey all, I just started out and I have finished some of the tutorials. Now I am at a loss as to what to do. It seams nothing in this game is possible on your own (Or anything I would enjoy, anyway). I am looking to join up with a few new players or a new corp and build a corporation from the ground up.
I am a gunner/fighter and I really wanted to join some corps for some small time mining operations as defence. I imagined that this small corpp would be quick and nimble, scouting around for new places to mine and constantly on the move. (maybe 5 or 6 people in these early stages of the game). A tight nit group. This is in contract to my views of the bigger corps where the procedures are set in place, you grind an asteroid field all day and thats about it.
Anyway, I looked at joining a few corps ingame but everyone is telling me I need to rush to get the battlecruiser ASAP, and I need to do X Y and Z exactly. (Learn these skills, get these weapons). This sort of ruins the fun, doesn't it? Here is this guy, telling me all of what I need to do to reach the end game as quicky as possible..only then will I be useful. Err..
Anyway, so any Australian players out there looking for something similar? |

Hello there.
First off i would like to say welcome to EVE
I hope you wont take this the wrong way but i would advice you to reconsider starting your own corp until you have more exsperiense in the game and with how a corp is run. You need to keep in mind that running a corp in EVE is very different from running a guild in WOW as an example. Running a corp in EVE basically becomes your new full time job,and as a new player its both a lot of pressure, and will make it difficult for you to fully enjoy and explore EVE to its fullest. The reason i say that is because your wishes is no longer first in line. You want to run a mission, or maybe go on a roam? Well sure thats fine but first you have to take care off the regular drama all corps have, recruit, set up roles, make sure the corp gets ISK and so on. So enjoy the time you have as a young player and use this time to try as many aspects of the game as possible.
Now for trying to find a small corp and join that. You mentioned your an Australian player and i will admit i dont know many corps with pure Australians but the ones i have heard about tends to be bigger. Im guessing because its a difficult timezone thus most Australians join a corp were they know this is the primary timezone for the majorety of their members. I would advice you too look into the recruitment section of this forum, make a post and make it clear what your looking for and the go from there.
Now for those who have told you what you need to train.. Please remember EVE dosent really have an "end game" but is it possible you misunderstood them a bit? I know that we will often advice players on training things like BC because that makes them capable of joining a larger variaty of corp operations and such that would be extremely difficult if they were just in a t1 frig. So the next time someone tells you to train something, ask them why they suggest said things. You might find that they have very valid reasons behind saying what they do
Good luck and have fun Phoibe Enterprises official recruitment thread |

There's plenty of opportunities for AU TZ players. If you're new and still learning PvP, RvB is a great corp to join, and being a massive alliance we have people on at all times, with a lot of AU TZ members as well.
There's plenty of AU corps (i.e. most people are AU, ANZAC alliance are a great example), but as mentioned above, most are very large and probably not suited for a new player. |

And nobody still hasn't given him THIS information:
This is New Citizen Q&A, for Questions and Answers by new players.
This is NOT Recruitment part of forums, scroll down a bit and you will find it.
Post your need to find other people there. Though given you are new and the nature of EVE. If you want to start a corp, start it when you have knowledge about the game (for instance, in high-sec miners don't need real protection. Rats are dealt with by drones, players will alpha them if they want before you can even react) and most importantly, start it with friends you TRUST / know. |

Jacabon Mere wrote:Obvious and illegal recruitment post.
Recruitment isn't allowed in this part of the forum.
If you want to reply, reply with constructive advice, not just with the link to your recruitment advert as that is just plain recruitment. |
