I have an odd (maybe stupid) question.
Of all the ships I fly I probably enjoy my little Vengeance the best. I run a single repper version for both PVE and PVP and it works great (with slightly different setups) in either world.
My question is, what would you consider a slightly oversized Vengeance? Something that is;
Small Sig
Fast
Tanky (repped)
but has better DPS output than the Vengeance as it can fall a bit short against larger ships.
Anyhow, thoughts?

I seem to remember the Navy Omen having a small sig for a cruiser. |

The Omen Navy issue has a sig of 112, the Zealot is 125.
The native resistance boost on the Zealot and extra grid can run dual reppers - which might be massive overkill with such a small sig and some speed tanking.
Zealot is faster by about 50m/s, siimilar DPS.
So the question is whether the ONI would fair as well as the Zealot due to its smaller sig. |

The Sacrilege is literally the vengeance but a cruiser hull instead of a frigate hull. Actually the Sacrilege is better because its a HAC not an assault ship and as such dosen't suffer from having ******** bonuses. |

Well obviously the Sac is the direct cruiser equivelant, however don't forget that the T3 Legion with the HAM sub is a beefier Sac with smaller sig and can be fit with 100mn AB |

Probably not then. The ONI only wins at requiring less skill to fly to its full potential.

The direct cruiser equivalent doesn't necessarily handle close enough to a Vengeance frig. He rejected Rupter hull for the same reason - it's too heavy. Sac is heavier, aside from the 100mn ab gimmick, not to mention a missile boat. I would have suggested Vegabound, but it's on the light side, plus not... laserly. So here's the Zealot. |

Heh I can't believe it took eight posts for a Sacrilege to get suggested, and I'll second that suggestion. It's got enough extra tank/gank that you could slap a couple nanos on it and fly it like a vengeance in PvE just fine, especially if you were rolling with an AB fit. And it is in ever other way a larger Vengeance, even down to the sexy paintjob.
Though yeah, a HAM legion could work just as well. But I'd start by looking at a Sacrilege first.

A) damnation isn't really a direct step above from either the vengy or the sac.
B) legion isn't black.
