I'm looking for details of the rules of War in EVE. Incredibly, although I asked many experienced players yesterday, no-one seemed to know anything about the 'surrender' button in the corporation war menu. I'm looking for a detailed explanation of what this does. Can anyone help?
PS - I'm sure your corp would never consider surrendering, etc etc, but I just want to understand the rules. A good leader should know all options available, and be able to put practicality before pride.

Corps ready for humiliation ;)

I think you can just surrender, war over in 24hrs.
It used to be that both CEOs had to be in a station and when you clicked it a trade window opened.
I think if you surrender now, it's war over, end of story - corp that paid fee loses it etc.
Been known to be wrong ofc.

I believe the warring corp has to accept your surrender, it's not automatic AFAIK.

If both parties accept; the war is ended. Im not sure if it ends instantly, but i think it does. ------------------

EVE sends a surrenderopition if you leave an Alliance when someone has a war against the Alliance.
And if you are really stupid you put it up in your BIO like Yamatar do.
