Having been on holiday I hadn't played for a few weeks, during which time the Cold War patch was released.
I've just seen the entry on the front page of the site saying that the patch has improved lag????
Frankly, I was gobsmacked! Since the patch, I am contemplating cancelling my subscription as I seem to be experiencing the lag I used to see with 9K players with only 5K players connected.......3 seconds to open "Items", 5 seconds to populate "Market" and 2-5 seconds to respond to a direction change with only 4 close range NPC ships around in combat.
Is anyone else as gobsmacked by the "reduced lag" statement as I am?

It has improved lag. Lag's more frequent, lasts longer, and is harder to get rid of.
Thing is ... we wanted them to nerf the lag instead.

I get such bad lag it stops me playing, I cant even mine, it takes about 10 seconds to move ore into a can! and this afternoon just selecting a bookmark to warp to took me a whole minute!
Restarting my pc clears it, but within about 10 minutes it all comes back. I dont think it is my computer, I have run Task Manager while playing and during these lag problems EVE is not straining for power, system idle is still using about 20% so there is plenty of CPU to go around.
Pleeease fix the lag CCP, we love EVE.. but how can we play??

After the big patch I found the lag was actually not bad, and loved how quick the game loaded.
The past couple of days, lag has been brutal, disconnects much more common and loading is a b***h.

my ship went boom, i think cause of lag (anyways having 30 NPCs shooting you is a bad idea) _____________________________ Honor Glory And Strength! Honor Above Self Glory For Self Strength Of Self

Market lag is very very very bad - as for everything else it seems ok at most times.
Think the next hotfix needs some fine tuning to market response times apart from that everything else is working ok

yeah the overall lag in busy systems is ok but specific actions ie selling or buying or just market are still laggy.

Well I haven't noticed too much lag to be honest, but my main concern is with the disconnects and crashes I seem to get. I haven't changed anything on my system either, literally all I did was install the Cold War Patch. Ever since that time I've been CTD'ing and disconnecting several times a day...

Having the same "lag" issue - no change to hardware or software except for the patch. Game is just not playable at the moment - unless I want to trade or rotate in a station (even that is lagged). |

I managed to fix my lag by getting rid of my Omega ATI drivers and rather using the NGO ATI drivers from guru3d.com.
I've also disabled the VSync - seems to work fine now. Never had issues pre-CW, but I'm just happy it is working again. I just hope it stays this way now. |

Just wondering, but are the people experiencing lag all using ATI cards? I've had many issues with those, until I finally switched over to a comparable NVidia card. All the problems I've ever had with games, crashes etc (except for the CTD's I get with Cold War) went away. I was actually able to play some games (like CoD) that refused to work properly with the ATI drivers.
