good job ccp for completely breaking the game with factional warfare...
I just found out that with factional warfare you can make 100x what you can with anything else... so unbalanced.... mining, trading/hauling, pvp, industry, missions, and ratting is now all obsolete.
I enjoy trading, mining, and industry but now there is no point.
I hope ccp understands that now that it is possible to make enough isk for a plex in one day that nobody will ever need to buy game time again..
lvl 5 missions at least you needed to risk an expensive ship, now you can fly a rifter doing plexes and make more than somebody doing lvl 5 missions.
I am now going to proceed to become a pirate and kill any person I find plexing |

Nothing like it used to be though. People were able to farm it beyond what anybody expected when it was first introduced. Since then, CCP has nerfed it twice in hopes to curtail this practice.
Namely, gangs of all stealth bombers grabbing multiple missions over and over while cherry picking them to the fullest extent.
Unlike normal missions, pilots were able to turn down faction warfare missions with no standing loss or negative effects. So they would all keep asking each agent for missions until they had multiple (read : LOTS!) in the same general location. Entire gangs would do this over and over, while ALSO only taking missions that would require them to kill a single enemy to complete it.
So they would all fly stealth bombers, go to mission area, warp directly to the target npc, kll him from range, complete mission and then return to their agents. Rinse and repeat with no end to the farming. Through practice, the vast majority of the missions they accepted were taking as little as 30 seconds to complete, and no more than only a few minutes.
One corp (wont name) took it a bit further by setting up fairly robust fleets on the gates in order to keep hostiles out of the mission running system of choice.
Prior to the release of Dominion, that very same corp had been taking pre-orders on navy battleships to be delivered on the same day the FW lp store went live. Due to the staggering amount of LP they had farmed, they made over 50 billion ISK on these pre orders alone.
TLDR : Just be happy that CCP fixed that particular loophole and leave it at that. |

IMO they should at least make the rats stronger to make sure that either side of the factions risk more than a destroyer.
I would like to see an arms race between factions.. that would boost the amount of isk non plexers are able to make.. I guess that with all this isk the plexers make they will risk bigger ships in pvp therefore creating more of a demand on the market.
As it stands, not too many people plex, I would like to see the plex thing become over saturated and loose its profitability. |

How could an over saturation of PLEX reduce the profit earned by CCP on it? Every single PLEX sold on the market was already paid for IN REAL MONEY prior to that.
Unless you mean over saturation to reduce its price and reduce the profit that players receive for selling it for ISK? |

LOL - and in that case yes I agree with you.
Though I haven't participated in any since around 2006. And then it was only because it was a corp event in null when I was part of the ASCN Alliance. Therefore I'm not sure how FW plexes compare to those in terms of profitability. |

FW LP has really been worth it at two points in it's history:
* the moment the LP store gained new stuff (described above by the post about the pre-orders) * a few months after no-consequences-refusal of missions was fixed.
at other times, it's doesn't seem to have been worth the time (even though the numbers i've heard are significantly higher that what Vera posts), because either everyone is doing it and foolishly driving prices down. won't even touch the store discount for tier farce -.- i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling. |

Wait plexing is super profitable? Man, you gotta tell me where those plexes are because the ones i have access to are actually crap isk/h wise.
Let me explain: Caldari and Gal militia are at T2, which means we both earn the normal LP payout. Now the most lucrative sites are major ones where you gain 30k LP in 20 minutes that's 90k LP in an hour. Assuming a 1k isk/LP payout (which is pretty reasonable) you get a whopping 90mill/hour income and that is without taking into account the fact you won't be able to solely run large plexes, the fact you may be chased away, some guy might have fun running the timer down again, etc.
So tell me how plexing is lucrative? Unless i'm missing items with 2k isk/lp ratios. (which is possible, i haven't checked the market in depth for quite some time) -Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. |

1k isk/lp is the "no effort" lp conversion rate (ships, faction ammo, datacores, ...) which is why I used it in my example.
http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/lpstore/ is very helpful.
Both militias sitting at t2 is rare, but even in your 90m ISK/h example (more realistically 75m isk/h as large plexes are rare) the OP's "a plex a day" benchmark would be achievable.
My point is not that plexing is super profitable (although the first week after amarr hit t3 was very profitable for me) but that "a plex a day" is not imbalanced or extraordinary.
(and if you really want to do FW for ISK then you should move your alts between militias to chase high payout tiers, not sit in a t2 militia and sulk) I'm a NPC corp alt, any argument I make is invalid. |

Oh please... FW income was overpowered after Inferno but now is in line with other activities in the game and far to be the most profitable.
A FW plex income is in the same range as a low sec radar exploration site. Yes, an exploration site requires a bit more time and a specialized ship but on the other side the chance to be killed or interrupted in FW sites are far higher, so are balanced.

DD could never blow up everyone on grid in low sec. Prior to Dominion, they were AoE, 0.0 only, after Dominion they were single target low and 0.0, then shortly after, changed to work only with 0.0 again.

Here is the problem. Items with 2k isk/lp or more are usually niche items which have been overlooked by your standard farmer. This results in a very slow cash flow because your items won't sell fast. But on top of that those niche markets are very easily flooded. This severely limits the amount of items you can pump in it. Even if you diversify you risk flooding your own markets. And than comes the risk that someone else spots the bargain and starts competing with you. This all makes it hard to sustain a 2k isk/lp ratio with FW LP store items. While it is possible it involves luck and being a part time trader.
1k isk/lp however is much more sutainable and as such i believe it is a fair ratio to use when valuing the income of FW.
And whether two factions having T2 is rare has yet to be determined. the new tier system has been released quite recently.
PS: i would also like to note that by using the website you linked according to the jita buy orders the calmil barely has any items that sell above 1k isk/lp and none come close to 2k isk/lp. -Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. |

Also, if you are talking about the less lucurative PLEXing, I don't believe that is best done with cheap speed tanking frigates anymore... but I'll admit I haven't paid close attention to that aspect of FW for awhile.
