Probably the better part of a day or two. Might wanna get a download manager so you can resume if you get disconnected. I did a rough calculation, that if you can manage to download at 4k constantly, will take about 34 hours.

Yeah best to download it at a friends place or your moms pc and burn the file on a cd... Otherwise it would take hours to download the thing.

The client is approximately 500Mb, there is a link to some download managers on the Eve Client page. I wouldn't even contemplate downloading that much data on a 56k modem. Best bet is as suggested, find someone with a broadband connection to download on and a CD burner, so that you can cart it away. I'mnot sure whether you can purchase the CD retail anymore, but that could be an option then download just the patches. [ |

While it does take awhile to download on dialup, resuming it every night while you sleep while you download is a good option.
A good download manager that I use and is actually quite informative on your downloads is leechget, freeware.
Now if only fileplanet allows resuming of downloads i would be set :)

Did the orginal poster mean download the client, or just log in to change skills? If the latter, it doesn't take that long to log in with a 56k, I do it a fair amount when away from home.

Ya the main goal is to be able to change skills here. Yea thats a good idea to burn on to a disk... I might be able to do that at my moms.
