Hello all
I have been playing for some time and my drones skill are pretty much not as good as they should be.
i have +5 implants so my skills are either 32 perception and 26 willpower or 32 intelligent and 26 memory. and other skills 22
so if i train drones when i have high perception i get
22(mem) + 32/2(perc) = 38 points
if i train while int is high i get
26(mem) + 22/2(perc) = 37 points.
so it is slighly better to train drones while traing ships and guns then when traing engeneering and mechaninc skills. from what i gether ut maby not worth the wait or respec unless i go with respecion totaly for it wich i will not do.
i have also been wondering about the navigation and leadership skills since they rare a mess as well but from what i calculated there i should train leadership shile im trainng ships and navigation while im traing engeneering or mechanic skills up. not gone put the calculation up here but i think im right there. |

Relax and take a breather mate.
As far as the drone skills are concerned, remapping is a waste of time. For one, you wont train it for long. the max you might train is drone interfacing and t2 sentries for beginners. T2 heavies if you want that too. Now, if you want to do fighter 5 for supers along with the others then remapping might save you abt 10 or so days.
Otherwise i wouldnt bother. Same for navigation. |

like i think i said i had no intencion to revamp for drones only i will be revamping sometime soon tho to int/mem. as im currently perc/will. but was jsut wondering if my calculation where right that i could be traing the drones either setup i have.
and about relaxing and take a breather i seriously doubt that will happen. |

yea you are right on that. Either have it in int/mem or per/wil. And train up the drones and navi skills as needed.
Honestly when you really start getting podded often, you won't care for implants after a certain point. So dont waste your remaps on these.
Also you might need one remap when you decide to train leadership skills. so save one for that. |

I don't have access to it ow or I would just calculate it for you, but check out a program called EveMon. It's a stand alone application that lets you enter your API (or not, your call) and create various long-term skill plans.
One feature is that it will tell you how quickly a certain remap will train certain skills ( it'll straight up say how many skill points per hour each skill takes when considering your recaps and implants). Using EveMon you can just make a "drones" skill plan, line up the drone skills you want to train, and then see what's quicker - a perception/willpower (ships and guns) remap or an intellect/memory remap (engineering and mechanics).
Either way won't differ by much, but it'll give you a certain answer as to witch is better. And, it's all around a kick ass program to use when planning your skills out.
Edit: sorry for typos, my iPad sucks |

Drone skills are memory/perception. So it you're mapped 10 int 4 mem, drones are buffed by 4 mem. If you're mapped 10 perc 4 will, you get 10 perc in the secondary skill for drones, and secondary skills are worth 50%. So effectively buffed by 5 points.
Kinda sorta sucks either way. IMO drones is actually one of the better things to blow a bonus remap on as you can spend six months on drone skills alone (closer to 8 if you include fighters). On the other hand, if you're on int/mem then you get the value of 10 int for the int/perc navigation skills, remapping from 4 mem to 4 perc doesn't make a lot of difference.
Really the question is, how much do you care about drones? You can get them pretty good with just a few weeks of training on a perc/will remap. But if you want to see a line of 5's in there, and/or you want to fly a carrier eventually, consider doing six months in a mem/perc remap. Oh, and many industry skills are mem primary, get up scrapmetal processing while you're there. |

Actually I find a good all around remap if you have many different things to train is int/per you will hit the primary for most skills, but not the secondary which has less impact anyway. If you are to be stuck with a remap for a year and have skills in many different categories you want to train it can work well. Far better than the ballanced remap of equal int/per/mem/wis, at least in my experience.
I just wish attributes affected actual combat as well as skill training, then you would have to decide between combat benefit and skill training time benefit. |
