Can someone tell me the equation to workout how much ore I need to mine for a given amount of minerals?
For example say I need 3,037,044 Pyerite how would I workout how much Scordite or whatever I'd need to fulfil that need?
Thanks. |

Doesn't give me what I want.
It tells me what I get from ore which I already know how to calculate.
I've tried reversing the calculation but it doesn't seem to work right.
I need to look at why I guess. |

so you're saying if you know 333 scord gives you 833 trit and 416 pyerite, you can't calculate how much scrod you need for 3,037,044 pyerite??
hint: (3,037,044/416)*333=??
also, be aware that this will differ from your actual refine amount if you don't have perfect refine skills. |

It makes sense NOW that you say it. :-) |

I see you have found your answer, but just in case you are a little unclear on exactly why and how that answer is reached.
If you have refining efficiency to 4 you will need a couple levels in each ore specific skill to get a perfect refine. Although the effect of the ore skills is not shown in the quoted refine rate. They will affect the unrecoverable column though when you refine. For example you may be quoted a 97.5% refine but have veldspar refining trained to 3. when refining veldspar the unrecoverable column will show zero. meaning you are getting a perfect refine. Your only loss will be the we take from station tax.
If you have refining efficiency to 5 you will get 99.5% refine at a 50% station even without ore specific refining skills. Using a 3% refining implant will give you a quoted refining rate of 100%. This is still reduced however by the we take portion. the only way to eliminate/reduce the we take column is by increasing standings with the corp that owns the station.
For example a batch of 333 veldspar has 1000 units of tritanium. But in order to get 1000 units you need both the unrecoverable and we take column to show zero. Even with a 100% refine the unrecoverable column will show zero, but the we take column can still reduce what you get. i believe it is around 6.4 standing with the owning corporation that the we take is reduced to zero. |

I have a tool that does this, it Can even tell you which ore to mine if you want to build lets say a BS or other T1 item. Try it out here Want to know what-áis best to-ámine or build at which cost? then try out Dedaf's Industrial Tool: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=8074&find=unread |

Along with Dedaf my Eve Industrial Organiser will also tell you how many units of any ore/ice item based on the material units you enter.
Along with total volume and total market price you can see which will be more profitable to mine becuase you could always sell the extra materials or take into account the other materials you need. The new home of the Eve Industrial Organiser is here. Enjoy the first in a series, EIO:Refinery now http://www.eve-files.com/media/corp/Sidrat/ Read about it http://eveindustrialorganiser.blogspot.co.uk/?m=0 |

I'm trying to make a tool in Numbers but I'm looking at developing my own iOS / Mac OS X app but I need to learn Objective C first. |
