I liked the first Matrix.
The story/idea of the matrix was great, but they kinda ****** it up. -----------------------------------------------

gotta agree with that, man silent running, theres a blast from the past, i always wondered if that little robot was still out there looking after his garden...
I picked up this ace book today everyone rates it as a must buy for the budding military genius, tho ive decided to rename it as "Sun Tzu's art of the bloody obvious" |

The new War of the Worlds was great. Hmm, my favorite would have to be the Star Wars flicks though.

Plan 9 from Outer Space
But Bladerunner would come a close second (although only the director's cut with the proper ending and without the dodgy voiceover)

I liked War of the Worlds, for the first time, a movie showed Aliens who did not act in what, for us, is a rational way. Getting killed by microorganisms, eating people but killing lots of them... looks like they were defeated on purpose, like humans have don many times in history.

That movie was a horrid butchering of the book(1959) By Robert A. Heinlein. Linkage
Star Treck II: The Wrath of Khan stands out in my mind. The Matrix is certainly a rare pice of work in today's Hollywood. 2001: A Space Odyssy certainly deserves an honorable mention.

The day the earth stood still
Honourable mention for the special effects in forbiden planet. The invisible creature caught in the force field is years ahead of its time. I heard disney where to thank for that but im not 100% sure

Agreed, the cinematic version of Blade Runner was crap, but the Directors cut version was simply great. The way it always should've been. Yay for hollywood producers
Anyways, The Matrix is one of my all time favourite films, al though they could've easily left the two sequals(sp) out.
Also, cut the cheesy ending off of Minority Report, and it's also quite a good sci-fi thriller. Don't know why we had to know that "the twins and Agatha were moved to a beautiful un-touched paradise, where they could live in peace forever." Guess it's those producers again, or just one of Spielbergs minor ****-ups (A.I ending anyone?)

Is "silent running" the one with round glass bubbles on a spaceship with liek 2 peopel and 4 robots on it, and they are the last gardens in the whole universe and then they are told to destroy them all but he lets the garden go with a robot inside it?
I really liked that film, ive often wondered what its called. Character "Widescreen" is a scammer; beware.
