A friend who's RL friend is quitting Eve again for the 3rd time has left him 10 Billion ISK with the stipulation it must be spent on ingame items. Now 10 bil is not alot in today's Eve standards but it's still a nice chunk of ISK to play around with.
He had expressed interest in getting a faction pimped Mach. I told him that would be a waste, cause they are overpriced and he might as well put a giant "Gank Me" sign on his ship with all those faction mods.
Then he asked me what would I buy? Good question, I suppose I would acquire some good BS BPOs or a stack of PLEX, but that's just me.
What would you buy with 10 billion ISK? |

You can just blow it all on T1 ships and roam around low/null, 10B will last a long time.
If you want to invest, capital BPO are a easy way to generate some passive income, by me/pe researching them a reselling. |

That amount of ISK is a good investment waiting to happen.
10B ISK is a lot for some, but not for others. Play your cards right and you can turn that 10B ISK into 50B ISK.

why the "in-game item" restriction? imho the best use of 10b would be to buy a specialized character
e.g. if I were given 10b without restrictions I'd probably look to buy an arazu pilot with recon 5 and cyno 5.
if restricted to in-game items I'd probably buy a spare dread and carrier and spend the rest of the ISK on PLEX.
I'm a NPC corp alt, any argument I make is invalid. |

train for a new clone buy a ton of pvp fitted ships and go fight stuff, kill some, die some whatever.
If someone handed me that much isk i'd put it into explosions and make it worth every 0.01 isk
heck i'd probably have fun doing it too lol. |

I would buy all the rifters. All of them. Then I would wander around high offering a free fully fit rifter to everyone in high sec with the stipulation that they must use it to try to kill me. Maybe I could convince a few that PvP isn't so scary after all. |

I'd start by buying one of every tech 1 subcap, then I'd start on the tech 2s and maybe get a carrier and dreadnought. Then I'd stock up on tech 2 modules up the wazoo so that I have stuff to last me for a long, long time.
Or just not spend it all right away. Either way...

Unfortunately he has no real cap skills to speak of. I had even offered to procure him a carrier and fit it, then give it back to him and give him a goal to be able to get in and fly it. He said no :( I think caps are not his thing.

A Spare Rattler. 0.5mil
Then id use 3 billion for faction mods, that i can use till i can get T2 ones, those faction mods allows me to use gear i cant yet skill wise...
The last 5Billion, id buy alot of T1 frigates and cruisers for CAS to blow up in nullsec when we go roaming, no need to be greedy, and it sure make Boig and the others that run them for starter people in CAS happy |

Might want to set aside a billion for skills if he hasn't bought very many of the expensive ones yet. I'm sort of a cheapskate myself and I've got plenty of high-end skills left to buy but the EVE character appraiser says I've got 700 mil worth of injected skillbooks. It adds up!

I suggest you do something noteworthy - something that will get mentioned in a devblog.
Pick a frigate that is dirt cheap and not used heavily in pvp, fit up thousands of them, and go forth and put a large spike in the graph that inevitably gets drawn about the most popular ships used in pvp.
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all. |

If you ever get 14bil you can buy a set of slaves, two years' worth of combat ships and still have enough to drop a thanatos on VFK-IV for laughs.
