I have found something a little strange with mineral req. after i trained the PE skill (lvl 3) If i install a BP and ask it to take mins from an empty division, it lists numbers for req. minerals. So far so good. If i start a production and ask it to take minerals from a divison with lots of minerals it will use more minerals than displayed in the example above with the empty hangar. This is still within what have been discussed in many posts.
Now here comes the funny one. If i provide "just" the amount of mins displayed as needed, it will run with that with no loss.
Osprey bp copy, no research. mins. used from a plenty supply 281.000Tritanium 70.958Pyerite 17.650Mexallon 4.444Isogen 1.155Noxcium 264Zydrine 68Megacyte
Same Osprey bp copy, no research, but with an exact mineral supply 247.367Tritanium 62.443Pyerite 15.532Mexallon 3.872Isogen 1.016Noxcium 232Zydrine 60Megacyte
THAT'S ABOUT A DIFFERENCE OF 300K ON AN OSPREY.
So what's up CCP? mass production is now "illegal" or at least penalized?

Interesting issue.
I tested the same scenario on a Small Armor Repair Device, but it took exactly what it should have based upon a 25% markup of minerals on the blueprint and Production Efficiency Bonus (Level 4: -16%). [Original, 20 Mineral Level]
I then tested putting in the exact number of minerals requested into a separate division on a Probe Blueprint. This resulted in the system asking for additional minerals to complete the job. [Original, 10 Mineral Level]
I will see if the same applies to a larger ship.
I will say, the only thing I see in your mineral comparisons is there is about a 12% difference in the quantities. The production efficiency skill at level 3 would produce a reduction in minerals by 12%.

as i said. the problem is that if u put more minerals than the exactly needed quatities, the production will use more mins. if u starve it u can do with the displayed.
So if u put in 2x needed and set the fab to do 2 batch's u'll only get one item, as this will use more than the displayed amount.
put in the exact amount for one run, let it take that and then supply the mins for the next will get u 2 items

That explains the problem I have been having with running out of materials on batch runs. I had not been able to trace the problem down befor. I thought I had the numbers in one of the BP's wrong. And could not figure out which one was wrong in the spread sheet. But this explains the incomplete production runs I keep getting, where I start with enough material and then run out, before completing the batch.
You have submitted a bug report?

i encounted this problem while making ammo so i do not think it is related to ships alone. (no mineral eff on the bp production eff lvl 2)
yes i have submited a bug report and i recomend every one else puts one in as well it sucks having the skill work in reverce ------------------------------------------------ nomad, vagabond, call me what you will. |
