Are we going to see something like this?
I heard something about a smuggling mechanic, and I'm curious - being a longtime browncoat, and enjoyer of smuggling stuff past unsuspecting law enforcers in various games, I've been hoping to see something similar hit the space mechanics for EVE (and to give me a proper use for cargo scanners, just in case the competition has better piece of cargo than me).
Any word on whether this will hit the spaceways anytime soon? (I really wish the faction police didn't have it so easy). |

I actually specifically created Issler to smuggle yet it hasn't happened yet. I hope they get around to it. I want a world where it's tough for naughty folk to slip about! (and to make the coin when they do!)

smuggling is moving illegal goods (boosters mostly) in highsec, either by avoiding gates with customs or by dodging them by warping off/cloaking and exists in the game |

That is hardly what was promised and the primary smuggling skill black market trading has been broken since it was introduced.

I too hope that, once, establishments come out, we'll be able to snuggle.
Hopefully by then we'll also be able to purchase a Snuggie from the NeX store.

I'm hoping for a smuggling overhaul too. Preferably something with lots of pew-pew involved. |

At the last fanfest they talked about introducing new stuff to smuggle, stuff people would actually want. That way there would be more smuggling. The other thing was to replace the NPC customs officers with players. The players could do things like demand a ransom... I mean a fine form the smuggler or would have the authority to set them red to everyone for some period of time.
Supposedly the goods to smuggle would be obtained via face to face interaction, off the grid, at establishments.
Now CCP could have some other method of getting the goods; a station button you use to get a window to a contraband market. But that would just be another "spreadsheets in space" feature, something to be avoided in game design. CCP employees should never proclaim a feature to be awesome. Only subscribers should. |

Anybody who wants to try smuggling should try and smuggle some blue ice out of Gallente highsec space. Since CCP can't provide you with a smuggling system Goonswarm Federation is willing to help out. |

Smuggling is easy.
1. Make a post on the market forums offering to deliver combat boosters to lowsec (drop, exile, mindflood, ect...).
2. Buy combat boosters in Jita, mark them up like 50% for your price quotes.
3. Take a frigate (boosters aren't that big), and if you get caught by customs jumping out of system, REFUSE to hand over your cargo. If you are in a fast frigate of any sort, they will NOT be able to catch you on jump-in, they will only catch you SOMETIMES on jump-out. If you REFUSE to turn over your drugs, you are assessed a rather minor ISK fine, a minor standing penalty hit with the current state (Caldari, Amarr, ect) you're in, and normally you would be flagged for 0wnage by customs. BUT, since they can only really catch you as you jump out, your ship just jumps before they can even lock you, and most importantly, whatever flag the game puts on you doesn't carry over to the next system. I wouldn't suggest trying this in anything bigger than a frigate or nano cruiser though, customs WILL catch slowly aligning ships like battleships EVERY TIME on jump-in, and you'll either lose your drugs or die.
Final thought: This works, I've been doing it for like 2 years, almost every day. Also, don't be surprised if CCP changes this game mechanic yet again, and generally they will NOT make any note of it in the patch notes. That means BE VERY ****ING CAREFUL AFTER PATCHES UNTIL YOU'RE SURE NOTHING HAS CHANGED. |

There exist, smuggler routes.
I think low sec is actually best for something, I must go lay down. I feel dizzy ---- CONCORD arrested two n00bs yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off. |
