As the world stands today CCP's word stands. There are no appeals, no juries, no judges. There is no moderating party in the middle either. Eveyone here knows that GM's are inconsitant at best with their help/solutions. Some GM's are better than others. Thats just a fact of life. But their needs to be an outlet. What I propose is that CCP create a body of people that have no vested interest in CCP or who play EVE and have an interest in that as well. This body would hear appeals from players and would make a final ruling. Sort of like the Supreme court in the U.S. The reason I think such a group should be made is because currently the only recourse players have against CCP is to stop playing the game and stop paying for it every month. This is sadly a no win situation. Eventualy more players will leave than are coming in, and the game will eventually die out. The players no longer have a great game to play and are reduced to trash such as WoW. CCP no longer has a job. Frankly, Customer support in general needs a major overhaul. Maybe the customer isnt always right, but neither is the seller. Without a party to moderate, both sides end up unhappy. The buyer gets a sub-par product, and the seller gets nothing but complaints while endlessly trying to improve the product.

I believe the Interstellar Services Department already handles this...
And I generally consider CCP's customer support to be vastly superior to any other I have used. --------------------------------------------- Johnny Twoshoe - Nuttier Than Thou (\_/) (O.o) (> <) |

I would have to agree, I'm currently in a rather nasty, prolonged imbroglio with my ISP and have had similar issues with big firms like Microsoft (i.e. the infamous 'did you turn your computer on?' line of blah), at least CCP gets the job done. Unfortunately that *is* saying a lot, as for some reason everyone has crappy support.
What youre describing might be interesting if a bunch of corps who wanted good customer service got together and made it, but it would be rather impractical for just one corp. The BBB has something along these lines but they only deal with very very serious cases (the kind of stuff that can evolve into class-action suits). _________________ [SAK] And Proud Of It! -- aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?

I would have to say CCP has the worst customer support I have ever seen....anywhere. Well maybe except for British Telecom. They are horrible too.
Ive come really close to quitting over them...but I hate to leave my EVE friends without me. I guess when you create a game with such a good community, you can get by driving people insane with **** customer support.

I've had nothing but good service from both.
Just rofl at "I hate to leave my EVE friends without me" - not "I'd miss them" or "I have fun with them"

Customer Service isn't bad. Their answers do not always satisfy, but that's to be expected.

Customer service in EVE is just fine. They're not going to reimburse every damn stupid ship you lose, you know. -- Proud member of the [23].

Russo you have never played another of the big MMO's. In fact I can pretty much guarantee you have hardly interacted with many companies in real life.
The WoW dev's don't even post on the forums. They have official spokes people that post a fluff piece once in a blue moon (which are 99% bull**** about how there is no class imbalance). SOE only care about your credit card number, and can't even be bothered to work with a service like PayByCash to take money I was willing to give them.

Understand what I am saying here people. I know the GM's (not talking at all about the Dev's which frankly I like most of the time) wont give me or anyone else back their ships 100% of the time. I would never expect such a thing.
But when GM's blantly conradict what is happening in the game, or you get different answers on the same subject from different GM's or even the same GM, then there is a major issue.
Again let me clarify. GM's seem to be doing a fine job on every other topic besides the "other" on in the petitions section. Well exepct for the Ore Thief problem which falls under a bunch of topics, but that is a different isse. I just want to clarify that there does need to be a higher authority or way to get to it when a GM doesnt listen to reason/clear proof or you cant get a straight answer.

I agree that there appears to be a need for better communication within the gm community, but their treatment of players has never been anything but excellent in my experience and the experience of my corpmates.
This thread is little more than an excessive rant with too much hate-mongering and demogoguery. ------ I generally assume the following: 1. 95% of Empire Carebears don't get 0.0 PVPers. 2. 95% of 0.0 PVPers don't get Empire Carebears. 3. 100% of Ore Thieves steal just to upset the Miners. |

Siri Danae your use of the language and big words are impressive. But not very helpful. I never once stated that GM's treated players badly. In fact one of the things I like about this game as that most players try to respect others around them. This includes GM's. I am calling for consistancy. AS for as hating on people, I dont recal ever saying I hated GM's or that I wanted to do any hateful act. In fact, I think if you read carefully, something that people tend not to do when compressed on time, that this post was in the spirit of change for the better, not to hate on people.
