Considering that it is indeed a semi-introductory PvP course (size restrictions encourage smaller hulls) the potential pay is way over the top, but always glad to read a piece that esentially says "I am a farmer/part time PvP'er (albeit only in gangs)" as it reaffirms everything we who are critical of FW have been saying since CCP deemed it necessary to throw absurd amounts of LP (and hence ISK) at us.
Bottom Line: If you subtract the deaths of random noobs and plain old ganks the number of kills is probably relatively low compared to the forever shinier past when we shot each other for control of space (with no LP!) as well as fun (the two are almost completely separate now).
Disgruntled out.

Well, you certainly went into left field on your interpretation here. Have you actually done FW alongside any of the core militia groups? a couple billion isn't hard to come by at tier 4, which Gallente were for several months, and you don't need to super farm plexes to do it. Also take into account that if you're GOOD, the loot drops from killing so many WTs can fill out your wallet rather nicely. The number of bumpties flying overpriced fits out here is insane, you can rake in a couple hundred mil in one kill sometimes.
The average price of my fits is frigs in the 20-30 mil range, higher end for navy frigs, cruisers in the 50 million range, and if I do go BC, that's the only time we're talking about 100+. It also helps that I don't lose billions every month.
The absurd amounts of LP are necessary for the simple reason that otherwise people would have to go outside FW to make money to PVP with. If you can provide the decent players with a good enough income to support themselves, then they can just keep flying and shooting, which in turn is healthier for the warzone, and I would say for the eve economy in general, especially for those merchants who take the extra risk involved with stocking our home stations with goods. |

OP I am glad you are spreading the word about low sec pvp.
Garr Earthbender wrote:Good write up. I know that Justified Chaos has a TON of fun/kills fighting in FW! Plexes are the new top belt in low sec FW systems btw. LOVE IT.
Yes fw plexes are definitely like the new top belt. No need to stay in faction war to fight in them though - fw just eliminates a ton of pvp opportunities in plexes. Removal of GCC is what I love.
IMO, if you want more frequent pvp, then you should stay out of fw. If you want more isk then fw makes sense. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Doesnt opening a plex simply state "I want to lock your assets to station and I will bring as big of a blob to achieve this as I can".
I mean, FW is already an extension of 0.0 sovereignty so why pretend anyone would actually want fights over it? They might say so in forums but ultimately when chips are down, nobody in FW would want to fight over anything if they can just achieve the same with overwhelming numbers and no fights.
Just like in 0.0 |

Of course, but until the chips are down, the mechanics of FW provide more (and more varied) fights than 0.0
Additionally, blobbing is an inefficient way of capturing systems, because in the time a blob captures one system, the same number of people who don't blob can capture 3-4 systems. So, ultimately, the blob gets the system they want, and the others get the rest.

In theory but what OP wants with his Mittani article is to continue the false rumors of "Caldari outnumber everyone" and attract more people for his side so he can blob every system he wants with lopsided numbers.

Well that's what the FW stats say. Caldari has the most FW pilots, Gallente have the most kills. Put 2 and 2 together and... |

What I find is that Caldari have more numbers during EUTZ and Gallente have more numbers during USTZ. Especially since Ev0ke (556 guys) joined and SoTF (100+) and Dark-Rising (200+) left (one out of FW right now and the other moving to Minmatar space).

it does not matter how they change it, best farmer will get sov anyway, always been so and seems that CCP can not change it. |

Rumor mill is fine. I'm the slow one in this case.
I did ask in a post a few weeks ago but no one answered. Didn't really think it would happen and hadn't checked because it hadn't crossed my mind to. (Sotf being in or out of fw doesn't really effect my alliance - they live too far away) I only keep my eye on the Justified Chaos guys. They are the only real concern to us. (They are always close by and can re-ship when needed etc etc...)
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2651796#post2651796 Odd to leave fw to recruit for fw.
From my experience moving your corps roots/purpose = mass exodus of old members from the corp/alliance. Null is too boring for most fw players. Apart from fixing sec status - null has very little to offer the individual player. Fix this **** See Sea Pea. |
