Ive been looking for some small gang setups for PVP using Amarr ships, but I'm struggling to find them. The Resource the devs posted seems wildly out of date. All the setups there are from RMR it looks like.
Basically there are just three of us. One of us is capable of using ships very well (26m sp) the other two are essentially brand new. We are looking for some fun, effective ways of engaging people in low sec areas surrounding high sec.
Eventually we will all be using Mallers, so we'd love a setup for that. Currently though we are looking for cheap frigates (punishers, executioners, even destroyers) that we can fly in tandem together.
Is that too general? I hope not.
Summary: We are all amarr and want to shoot things on the cheap with little skills. We expect to die though, we're good with that.
Thanks |

If the high SP guy has decent drone skills, might want to try something like 2 Tormentors for the low skill guys and a Neut Dragoon with a mix of combat and logi drones for the high SP guy. If you don't mind dying, that could potentially be fun. Would work better if you could find one more person to fly an Inquisitor (as there's a good chance the Dragoon would be primaried). Thanks for the thoughts, it's giving us some good ideas. The high skill guy doesn't have great drone skills, mostly Pulse laser spec'd, so maybe a Harbinger or something simlar for him?
So in reality the two new guys will basically end up being tacklers for the higher SP guy, correct? |

Use frigs, go to FW sistems kill people
Tormentor is good (good damage projection good tank)
imperial navy slicer is also good as a kiter and very fast (you need t2 wepons to be efectiv with it),
COERCER is the best imo as it can be very efectiv eve with t1 guns(guns,10mn ab , poit, damage control 2 heat sinks and rigs you can get huge dps in it, over 300 dps with t1 guns with t2 eve more (500)overheat of course)
T2 frigs SENTINEL - neuts mwd long point drones cap boosters, can kill solo any frig desy and some t1 cruisers
AMAR AF - both are good
AMAR ceptor ->malediction
for more info google "eve online altruist"
And like this post i want HUGS!! "Oh, you think nullsec is your ally. But you merely adopted nullsec; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!" |

Hey just get EFT out and have a play. Here's a cheap Tormentor I give out to FW noobs that might be short on ships fleeting up. It's 2.5mil isk, pvp doesn't get much cheaper and its better than staying docked.

For low SP guys use the punisher, executioner, coercer and inquisitor as logi back up
These are 'straight forward' amarr fighters and require far less SP to fly effectively. The tormentor, dragoon are excellent ships but require more sp to be put into drones to make them effective.
If you have a character that trains a little ewar (TD) then a crucifier can be added for more utility. That is the Way, the Tao.

For 1v1 you could go for the Crucifier: H: 2x Dual light pulse Laser II w/ Scorch M: Langour Drive Disruptor Warp Scrambler II Tracking Disruptor (t2 or meta), Optimal Range Script 1 MN Afterburner II L: Heat Sink II EANM II DCU II
Rigs: Small Energy Metastasis Small Energy Collision Small trimark
Drones: 3x Hobgoblin II
You can orbit most frigates (especially blaster and AC fits) @ 8 km, keep them at range with web + scram while your tracking disruptor keeps you out of their weapon range. This ship is so good that it feels like an exploit... oh..117 dps, 2923 EHP.
Or the classical Punisher fit: H 3x Dual LIght Pulse Laser II, Scorch
M 1 MN AB II Scram
L Heat Sink II ANP II DCU II 400mm RRT plate
Rigs: small Energy Collision 2x trimark.
Has some ridiculous 9465 EHP and 108 dps with Scorch @ 10 +1,9 or 135 dps with Faction MF @ 3,4 +1,9
Please don't feed me. |

There are so many good combinations. I'd probably try to roll with 2 Slicers and a Malediction. Inty/Bomber fleets are just plain boss if you've got the SP to do it.

I don't know much about gang compositions and whatnot, but I can heartily recommend using the Executioner, as well as forgetting all about the Punisher.
To put it simply, the Executioner is an amazing ship for destroying things, I mean annihilating other ships in seconds. The Punisher can be okay, if you manage the circumstances well enough so that you're in a situation where the enemy can't break your tank or escape and they die a slow painful death. Today, however, that just does not realistically happen most of the time. It's a much worse ship, straight up, than the Executioner.
Here is my Executioner fit.
[Cigano] Small Focused Pulse Laser II x3
Afterburner Warp Scrambler Stasis Webifier
Heatsink II x2 Small Armor Repairer
This beast puts out 177 dps overheated with Scorch. You just melt frigs at range. Some times you go up close against certain ships with Multifrequency dealing 222 dps overheated. I keep a Nos offlines in the last highslot; you can deactivate one gun and use the Nos to keep your cap up against certain ships, i. e. Sentinel. It still does halfway decent damage with only two guns.
I've used it in low-sec, null-sec, and high-sec. It's pretty standard and effective. You can swap a heatsink for a damage control if you're a *****.
I've flown in RvB before and it makes a decent tackler for small scale ****, people don't expect an Executioner to be putting out that kind of death. I'm an ignorant non-believer and I live in my grandma's garage. When people-álook at-áthings differently, misunderstandings happen. Everybody wins when you blob PvP! |

What rigs do you fit to the dual HS executioner?
I've flown them and enjoy them a lot however I would happily take my rifter against them as the only real advantage that the executioner has is speed and in a brawl v rifter that doesn't translate given the limited damage type and the bad tracking of the Focused small lasers.
The executioner really shines nicely as a TD inty trainer though. And never rule out the punisher as that thing is nasty ship to fight as it can hit anywhere in scram range and tanks like a boss in a frig fight. The on paper dps isn't that brilliant but it can apply it very well. The Tormetor is an excellent counter point to the punisher being more ganky/utility but less tanky brawler.
All in all giving the amarr a pretty balanced line up of combat focussed frigs tbh. That is the Way, the Tao.

I just use laser turret rigs. Forgot to put those in my post.
Also about what you just said. "Executioner's only advantage is speed and in a brawl v rifter..."
Personally, I like to use my speed advantages :p For example, an autocannon Rifter blows up about 10km away from me 10/10 times. Keep at range, minimize tracking issues, and do damage.
About the Punisher, well I just disagree with you. I had lots of problems applying damage with lasers on it, sure it has a decent 10km range, but the tracking is absolute crap, and other frigates can really take advantage of that since Punisher can't fit a web / scram / ab. Basically the problems of having low damage and not the greatest application are exacerbated by being a slow lumbering heavyweight of a frigate with only two mid-slots.
But like I've said it's got a nice tank and you can make it work in the right situations. I just don't think it's a very good ship. It might have a better place in frigate gang type situations where it can receive reps from an inquisitor or something.
Edit: I know I sound like a Punisher hater, but this is coming from someone who used to rock that **** all day before I started using the Executioner. I'd even say i'm one of the best Punisher pilots there are these days, I know that's not saying much but I think I did pretty good with it when I used it. This is a signature. It... signifies stuff. |

I know where you are coming from with the issues around the punisher. I still like it though. I have even been know to swap the scram for a web as most people just don't think about retreating from a punisher. They seem to think 'it only has two mids so I can disengage at will' then they die. However when in a small gang of frig going after cruisers I LOVE it.
The main thing I find with the brawling executioner is the tracking of the focused smalls with scorch. having said that I too like the scram kite combat it offers and was really happy to see the revamped version.
TBH I do fly it more now than the punisher now......
Each to their own I suppose. I'm glad amarr are in a much better position now than before with their line up tho'
As for my comment on rifter v executioner take it with a pinch of salt as there isn't much I won't take my rifters up against tbh. I'm crazy like that That is the Way, the Tao.

Tormentors are fun to fly. I prefer them to the punisher. Little less tank but its nice to be able to fit a point and web. At work at the moment and can't remember my fit.. but drop me a mail and i'll send it to you. Also check the Amarr faction warfare and RVB losses on the KB to get some ideas about fits and ships.
