When adding many waypoints to your autopilot route, you will see all relevant gates and stations in yellow in the overview (if there are multiple waypoints located in the current system), even though they may not be the next jump in the route (in sequential order).
The only way to know which one to pick from the list when jumping manually is to look in the autopilot list on the left in the case of stargates, or to hover your mouse on the next waypoint icon in the autopilot route to show a tooltip with the station name.
Why not make the next jump in autopilot route green instead of yellow, and make it always appear on top of the overview when sorting by icon?
This would make long trade routes with multiple waypoints much easier to manage. |

Easy addition that would hurt no-one and help quite a few. Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot. |

Sounds doable: In cases where the result of optimizing, your flight paths, (or not) would inevitably result in multiple star gates icons being coloured yellow (thus, one would have no stinking idea where to manually jump, in cases where you would want to to do so).
Colors: Next planned jump gate icon is green and all other paths are yellow. Or what ever colour c.c.p. would pick... Purple:D [Lt. Cmdr. Data]: "Perhaps. Perhaps not, sir." [Capt. Picard]: "That's hardly a scientific observation, Commander. "[Data]: "Captain, the most elementary and valuable statement in science, the beginning of wisdom, is, 'I do not know'. I do not know what that is, sir." |

Lets not be overly dependent on colors. Remember that a significant portion of the players is colorblind. I'm not dissing the color recommendations, although I don't see the issue, but if it is a big deal, then maybe using different shapes or hashings would be good too. I've seen (and supported) this idea bafore.
As was said above, this would help many people, hurt nobody and would not upset any balance in the game.
Also as was stated, consideration to those players with colour blindness would be appriciated.

I think the idea is more the icon would change to something like a right arrow, and could then be whatever color they wanted.
With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I like this idea of having the next jump being a different color. More specifally I like it to be a different color from other yellow things, such as cans or wrecks.
However, nowadays I more often than not simply right click the square representing the next system (in the upper left corner) and select "Jump through stargate". This works especially well (for me) in Jita or other overly crowded locations where the overview changes so rapidly that I sometimes have a hard time just clicking the next gate .
Anyhow, +1 to this idea. |

Fine, make it bolder too then... so Green and Bolder. There :)
That way color blind people (which are a minority let us remember) will also benefit from it.
I think the point of the suggestion is clear however: Add some sort of visual clue in the overview on/next to/over/under/whatever the next jump in your autopilot waypoint. Whether it's a new color, a different icon or just an accentuation of the current icon, I don't care, as long as it's obvious and easy to distinguish. |

Yeah some different shapes and symbols to go along with the colors would solve the color-blind issue nicely.
And make them customizable of course.

And make them customizable of course. +1 I know the icons are actually images though (which is why you're able to sort them in the overview and that autopilot always shows on top when sorted in ascending order, by image name), so they'd have to make every possible color for you to be able to change it, otherwise they'd have to change the whole system to use another method for coloring the icons (like a dynamic hue).
Little bit more work, but I'd still like that very much! |

just so we are all aware, u dnt have to use the overview to jump to the next system. u can right click each system/station from the autopilot UI bit in the top left. |

Suggestion green after somone mentions colorblindness is a logic failure.
Red-green colorblindness is the most common form of colorblindness. I suppose it would still work since (afaik) the ability to differentiate yellow and from red or green isn't affected in those people, but it still seems an odd suggestion.
Honestly, my initial thoughts would be light blue for other waypoints and yellow as the next waypoint. |

And yes, I fully support this as it's only beneficial to everyone.
