This is true; WoW teaches the assumption that our choices don't carry any moral weight and that it's someone else's job to make sure bad things don't happen and are punished. A better breeding ground for evil is hard to imagine.

Mhax Arthie wrote:Funny, In WoW I was an absolute azhole and I got even banned for doing abusive stuff against other players. In EVE where CCP is educating you in being a total scumbag... I just can't do anything bad, I actually help people and I feel very bad if I scam someone. So in my case, as hilarious it sounds, EVE made me a good person. Maybe I need some medical help or get back to WoW :S
Sounds like a little freedom was the therapy you needed.

If you play a long running game and act like a douche because you can, chances are you would do that in real life if the bullies from school wouldn't wedgie you half way up your back for it. What a load of rubbish. OP, there is absolutely nothing wrong with playing a bad guy in a game if you enjoy it and are comfortable with it. It is not, and has never been, and measure of your moral fortitude. RPG's by design allow a person to portray character traits other than their norm, if they wish. It's rather one of the main points of the game. Anyone who feels that a players in game actions can only reflect who they "really" are is having serious difficulty separating realtiy and fiction.

I have been permabanned and an admin personally beaten me, for a particularly helpful and in depth technical post on the Warhammer Forums. I can't even play some EA games any more, they banned me so hard I can't enter their websites to i.e. resub
What was the subject of the technical post? "How to optimise your Bright Wizard build" is different from "How to reconnect a banned IP so your bot network can resume operation" Vote for Malcanis for CSM8 https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=192717&find=unread |
